Triblio

Triblio is well suited for ABM programs that are nascent or growing, and want to make some quick wins. I always caution people that are developing an ABM practice to not start with technology, but when you have the data and go-to-market strategy Triblio can produce some quick, visible wins. You should not invest in Triblio until you have a high level of data integrity in your CRM, a clear go-to-market strategy, and a defined list of target accounts selected to and agreed to be management. With those things done, Triblio will quickly enable you to ramp up targeted messaging to the account prospects that matter.

Pros

  • This product is easy to learn.
  • This product is easy to implement into current business plans.
  • This product has more bells and whistles than most people who use this type of platform know what to do with on a daily basis.

  • Easy to use - the homepage personalization allows you to fine-tune the homepage for specific industries, companies and user profiles in a snap.
  • Their customer success is top-notch. They work hand-in-hand to help you accomplish your objectives on the platform.
  • We've had some early success with Triblio digital ad targeting - impression/click/land ratios. We may deserve some credit for the creation of the effective ads, but they're doing something right.

Cons

  • Easier integration with other Adobe tools, as well as 3rd party tools, would be nice.

  • The platform is maturing. We've encountered a few small hiccups with the technology and there are certain features that are more than just nice-to-have, that are missing from the platform. That being said, the roadmap is robust and it seems to be evolving quickly with customer demands.

It has performed well above our expectations and has given us the time we'd be better off spending on building new strategies and customer development, over manual PPC campaign management. The ROI far exceeds what we could have promised on our own with many clients and we wouldn't want to give up that kind of almost guaranteed ROI for our clients.

It definitely takes some instruction to get to be able to use the system. One would struggle trying to get it to work without any previous experience with it. If you are famailiar with the interface it is actually quite fast and easy to maneuver around.

Alternatives Considered

We have only gone with the Adobe Media Optimizer, as it seemed the most appropriate tool for what we wanted to use it for and offered an optimization tool as well as a reporting platform that others didn't. We took into account the abilities of Marin software and Navis, but none could offer the benefits that AMO could

We have not fully evaluated Demandbase, but it is a serious competitor to Triblio and I've heard references that it's a very powerful platform as well. It seems Demandbase has recently unbundled their previously very expensive platform to compete with market entrants like Triblio.Triblio has three core platform pieces currently: account identification, web personalization and targeted advertising. We have utilized the first two so far and received great ROI. Their targeted advertising component competes with Terminus, which we use for our targeted ads. We plan on evaluating Triblio's capabilities and comparing them to Terminus in the future.

Return on Investment

  • Increase in the margins of spending and profit.
  • Allows us to make decisions based on statistics and percentages given by the simulations and not in simple intuitions or advice from third parties.

  • We've seen some good vanity metrics - site traffic and leads - from the Triblio initiatives, but have yet to see our efforts convert to closed business. We obviously take some accountability for this.
  • The website personalization can really be used in some creative ways to heavily promote key activities and assets (e.g. pop-up for every homepage visitor) - we've used this to drive a lot of site visitors to a free trial.
