Adobe Sign

I think Adobe E-Sign is well suited when you need many acknowledgements at once (MegaSign feature). It is also quite useful if you have one form that needs to get multiple signatures as part of a process (e.g. employee, authorized user, manager). I think it might be a little too cumbersome for just one signature on one form.

  • If you need a way to send contracts from a template, this is a great system to use.
  • If you have a boilerplate for a rental agreement, again a great system to use.
  • This is a good program for anyone that has a lot of repeat deals of a similar nature and needs to repeatedly send out contracts or arrangements with clients.

Pros

  • Adobe EchoSign enables us to quickly and easily reach our client base of over 5,000 independent contractors across the country. Because our clients are located all across the United States it would be an inefficient use of time and resources to maintain their agreements and service contracts any other way than EchoSign. I am the admin for our EchoSign account with six subgroups that I manage a variety of documents for. I am easily able to locate a document, find its current status and see all who have shared it. This makes managing a large amount of documents very simple.
  • EchoSign is very user friendly in that every tab is easily recognizable as to its functionality and use. Being the one that trains our company on how to use and maximize EchoSign it is very easy for new employees to grasp because of how user friendly it is.
  • Getting a document uploaded into EchoSign and available for immediate use is very simple. I utilize Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create all the custom fields and the overall look of the document and then simply add the document to my EchoSign library with the appropriate signature fields.
  • Adobe EchoSign makes signing and filling out our contracts/agreements a simply process for the client. EchoSign walks clients through each field on a document in which information is required.

  • The interface is well laid out, making it easy to navigate.
  • I enjoy the template system as it allows us to faster send out contracts.
  • The ability to keep a database of clients so that we can faster send future contracts is great as well.

Cons

  • Maybe an option to import contacts. That way I don't have to type or copy an email address all the time
  • The design itself can be a bit slicker. It looks a bit cheap
  • When I want to reload the document, everything I've done in it; placements of fields and signature areas, is lost and I have to start over completely from the beginning (including adding recipient email). This is not a very good UX

  • I would like to see a way to have a waver that I can just have an overall generic link to, this way new guests at the circus school, just needs to go to one URL, fill in a waiver, and it will save it for them. *** this can remove the step of me having to enter their name and send it to them and save me time.
  • It was not very clear at first how to send contracts.
  • It was not very clear at first, how to edit and change contracts on line.

This would be a 9 or 10 except towards the end of 2012, there were several outages, one that was significant. EchoSign has taken steps to rectify this but they really should have handled both the outage and the subsequent communication better

Usability

Adobe Sign9.2

EchoSign is extremely easy to use through the entire signature cycle, from sending to signing to administration with a very guided approach. The only way this could be more usable is if it auto-detected the fields but you can get there for the end users by using smart tags in just one extra admin step

Online Training

Adobe Sign8.0
Based on 1 answer
The best types of training are well integrated into the product and Echosign does this well. As mentioned earlier in my review - there are some areas of functionality that can be difficult to understand ("only I sign") for the novice user.Other areas such as macro usage, bulk signature and so on were easily learned and understood via the online tools.

Make sure you set aside enough time to get properly trained on the system. We needed to act quickly on our initial use of this product and I did not have the time to go through all the proper training so it was basically go in and learn. I think it would have been much easier had I been given the time by the company to learn everything first.

Alternatives Considered

I used them because I had previous positive experiences with them, but now that I am at Cali Bamboo I am looking to move away from them to a company like DocuSign because they have the same features and functionality but more flexible pricing and better reps.

I started with DocuSign, however I was not in love with their services. Its a good platform, however the price and value for me was better with Keep Solid Signed. Besides the above, I use google docs at times. This is another great value, but as far as legal issues are concerned, their is no legal binding way to use them

Return on Investment

  • Very positive impact; the ease of having clients sign contracts online instead of having them print a contract out, sign it and scan it again to email it. The latter usually takes longer and clients sometime procrastinate with that a lot more. In short; I receive signed contracts back a lot faster with Adobe Sign
  • It comes with the Adobe Suite, so I don't have to purchase yet another software solution. Obviously that is a plus on expense and just overal ease.

  • Helped to save time on back end paper work.
  • Easy place to come and reference past contracts.
  • Easy to send clients for them to see past contracts.
