Adobe Sign

When working often with contracts and the need to keep track of a lot of different clients, Adobe Sign is really helpful. Early in my business when I didn't have a large number of clients and I did most everything in person, it would have been a more unnecessary luxury for me. Now that I do a lot of work online and my clients are reaching farther and farther and more regularly hire me from over an hour drive away and sometimes out of state, I've found it extremely helpful when I can't meet in person. I've even moved to doing all contracts through Adobe Sign, even if we are meeting in person

Excellent all around! If you have documents to be signed by clients that you don't see face to face, this software is a godsend.

Pros

  • eSign is very easy for the end user. Clients rarely have issues receiving/reviewing and following the instructions to sign the document.
  • The "Manage" section in the eSign interface is very handy. In a quick snap shot I can see agreements we have outstanding, the ones I need to sign, as well as all of the recently signed and/or cancelled. Rather than having to check with the employee who issued the agreement as to its status, I can just check there.
  • I really like the reminder functionality as well as the history log for each document. Before we reach out to a client who hasn't signed their agreement we can check to see whether or not they've viewed it (including the specific date and time) and we can easily send them a friendly reminder.

  • Send documents and request signatures via email
  • Never lose a signature due to phone or app error
  • Save your initials and signature for easy retrieval
  • Download documents into SignNow from many sources

Cons

  • The document "send" process has several steps. There are about 10 fields you fill in before you move to the next page to position the signature boxes on the actual document. If you forget or miss-fill one of the the fields, you cannot go back. You have to start over.
  • The history log does not keep track of the reminders you send.

  • It would be nice if the form creator gave you a more clear idea of where the data that will be filled in falls in relation to signature lines or boxes
  • Documents imported from Word rarely maintain their format. It is much more robust uploading a pdf.

EchoSign has without a doubt helped our company to become more economic and time efficient. We can provide our customers with an entire documentation packet filled with all of the required paperwork they will ever need to sign in one quick email. The return time is at least four times quicker than sending through traditional mail methods, and is just as easy to instruct as flagging a hard copy. Our company is in the renewable energy industry, and it's great to know that there's a product like this that can help reduce waste. EchoSign diligently secures all documents and signatures, and provides an audit trail that is integral to keeping our customers' information private

I have used SignNow's mobile app for years. It has made it extremely easy to sign and save contracts and verify personal training sessions. The app works wonderfully. If for some reason the app closes before all signatures are completed, it automatically saves them.

I would have rated this a 9 or greater had they not had had such critical outages. They have taken steps to resolve this so I may come in and revise this

Support

They have improved this in the latter half of 2012 adding more online help which they didn't have previously. With regards to the support by a person, sometimes answers seem delayed but again this has improved in the latter half of 2012. 2013 Update:Support has improved over the last year as has the downtime however there still is some downtime; more than there should be if they have full data center redundancy, which they should but I don't know if they do. I still don't have access to what appears to be a support portal however that is likely due to my support level

Online Training

Adobe Sign8.0
Based on 1 answer
The best types of training are well integrated into the product and Echosign does this well. As mentioned earlier in my review - there are some areas of functionality that can be difficult to understand ("only I sign") for the novice user.Other areas such as macro usage, bulk signature and so on were easily learned and understood via the online tools.

Implementation

Make sure you set aside enough time to get properly trained on the system. We needed to act quickly on our initial use of this product and I did not have the time to go through all the proper training so it was basically go in and learn. I think it would have been much easier had I been given the time by the company to learn everything first.

Alternatives Considered

Docusign. We perceived that Docusign was strongest in the real estate market and might have more professional services. By contrast Echo sign doesn’t have any. However, I felt that Docusign makes people adopt their signature online out of the gate and creates a very different user experience. I think this makes the user uncomfortable. I also think their set-up a is a lot more confusing. It looks very legalistic in comparison to Echosign. By contrast, Echosign seems more user friendly. The style feels lighter like Mac vs. Windows

I have not used any other electronic signing service. I did research before signing up with SignNow, and I've been super satisfied so I haven't felt the need to switch or shop around.

Return on Investment

  • Quicker lead conversion/sale close.
  • Great impact on customer service.
  • Cut on costs for printing hard copies of documents and sending them securely through a mail carrier.
  • Increased document return timelines.
  • Helps to meet program goals and regulations for signature requirements.
  • Reduces paper waste and need for offsite storage.

  • It's a very positive impact: we save on printing and paper costs on both the sender and signer's side. We're a tech company. It's nice NOT to have to rely on paper 100% of the time.
