Adobe Social is not ready for prime-time, it is lacking in many ways.

Buddy Media

How many social media accounts you plan on using and whether full bundling is cost effective for your organization. It seems the price points are running on antiquated model of pay per account that can be quite costly depending on the scale of your organization. Seems to weed out middle size users

Pros

  • Social Follower Growth Data: the dashboard made it easy to keep track of the upticks in our following across our numerous pages. IT cut down tabulation time from 4 hours to 15 minutes.
  • Ability to tag posts: The tagging of posts with multiple things allowed us to attribute the engagements and impressions to definitive campaigns and intitiatives.
  • Bespoke reports: Though we needed help setting them up, the bespoke reports created were very helpful in analyzing data referential to keywords.

  • Its allows for great scheduling, seeding and workflow management for individual users
  • Sapplets are easy to update and they are fed quickly and immediately published to accounts
  • The dashboard that tracks page posts is very easy to identify performance and analyze results

Cons

  • Tracking keywords: you have to know the keywords you want to track prior getting data on them. (ie. no retroactive data renders) In the fast paced world of social media where things change on a dime, this is an antiquated approach.
  • Very difficult to navigate and get up and running. Although I'd used similar community management and analytics systems before Adobe Social, it took 3 - 4 months to my team up to speed on the core features and functionality. Several other depts that had intended to use it gave up as a result of the difficulty.
  • The Mobile experience is horrendous. The service is inaccessible on mobile. So for posting it's atrocious.

  • The packing and integration of Radian6 is costly and unnecessary for what I use BuddyMedia for
  • The lack of expansion beyond Facebook and Twitter is annoying
  • I am not in love with the frequency that I have to employ Buddy's help in deploying widgets, it can be tedious

Likelihood to Renew

Adobe Social5.4
Based on 11 answers
Unfortunately, I was using a corporate account for a company that I no longer work for. However, in an individual capacity, I would 100% renew Adobe Social, as well as recommend it to any future employers that I have

I no longer work for the company, but I know that they will be renewing and have found that Buddy Media is by far the most user friendly, competitively priced, convenient and has brought in a great deal of profit for our company

Social moves at the speed of light, Adobe Social doesn't. I found posting via the system very cumbersome.

The Adobe support team is really helpful. We have recently gone through a number of account reps since our favorite rep was promoted off of our account, so we are hoping for better service in our newest rep.

Online Training

Adobe Social6.0
Based on 1 answer
Training was long and a little confusing. While a number of features carried over, they were still covered in this elongated training. It would have been nice to have training tailored to experience level with the product.

Implementation

Adobe Social5.0
Based on 1 answer
The implementation was done during our POC. We had a very mixed experience here, and have had some issues arise since based on the way the tool was implemented. An Adobe employee went ahead and made a change to our account that was unauthorized (helpful for our implementation) which caused issues in on boarding another team who needed the same change, but could not get it done without costly Adobe certification

Alternatives Considered

I didnt have the option to select it for this client. They came to us with this tool. I believe it's quality and has a lot to offer in terms of really driving Social ROI with an integration with bitly
Stephanie Marx profile photo
Buddy Media was more simple to use vs. Virtue, when it came to a content management standpoint. Wildfire was our go-to content platform, until Buddy Media created a facet of managing online contests themselves and we chose to switch. Dachis' offering was a bunch of dirty data, w/ poor accuracy, and hard to use. We found the analytics portion of Buddy Media to be equivalent, and although not very robust, just as simple.
