Adobe Social is not well suited to any type of social publishing, reporting or listening, particularly on a large scale within a major enterprise. It can, on occasion, completely fail to do what is asked of it. Customer support is slow and representatives often don't even read the ticket properly and ask questions answered by the ticket.

I think that Grmln works best for small businesses that are not in position to hire a brand management company or specialist. They can still feel in touch with the purpose because they are still personally involved in the messaging. It best suited for businesses that have less than 7 social media platforms for their company.

  • Integration with Site Catalyst could be of benefit as long as a subject matter expert in both platforms provides guidance
  • Some of the terms reporting can be useful at times to determine overall reach of a campaign across platforms
  • Recent update to newest version did bring some noticable improvements.

  • Some of the tools/applications don't work, as it's still a relatively new service.
  • Sometimes contacting support can be frustrating (IE support won't actually explain what is wrong, but just tell you it's not their problem).

I wasn't in charge of making the actual management decision, but I would absolutely renew Adobe Social. As I mentioned, it provides strong and in-depth analytics and listening tools. The reports that it generates are very thorough and easy to read. I loved the platform and would recommend it to anyone

I love using Gremln, and I encourage its use by those trying to get all their platforms managed in one service. I was part of the Gremln Beta, and we had a grandfathered account that is no longer featured. Because of difficulties using that account now (and an unhelpful customer support experience), I can't give a score of ten. However, if I had never had access to the account that I did in beta, I'd likely give Gremln a ten and absolutely renew.

Social moves at the speed of light, Adobe Social doesn't. I found posting via the system very cumbersome.

The usability on the listening side is poor. The process to set up streams is not very intuitive, involving too many steps. Also, the ability to create custom search streams is fairly well hidden.The reporting is pretty weak as well, with separate click through reports from other types of engagement, and a lot of engagement types within Facebook and Twitter are simply missing.

The Adobe support team is really helpful. We have recently gone through a number of account reps since our favorite rep was promoted off of our account, so we are hoping for better service in our newest rep.

Implementation

The implementation was done during our POC. We had a very mixed experience here, and have had some issues arise since based on the way the tool was implemented. An Adobe employee went ahead and made a change to our account that was unauthorized (helpful for our implementation) which caused issues in on boarding another team who needed the same change, but could not get it done without costly Adobe certification

Alternatives Considered

Originally started with Radian 6 for social listening, however, it requires way too much hands-on time for small teams. Again, a robust systems for large B2C and ecommerce sites.
