Adobe Social

Adobe Social is not well suited to any type of social publishing, reporting or listening, particularly on a large scale within a major enterprise. It can, on occasion, completely fail to do what is asked of it. Customer support is slow and representatives often don't even read the ticket properly and ask questions answered by the ticket.

Social Studio

If there is only one person managing social media within the organisation, then the features of social studio would be under-utilised and therefor the cost may be unwarranted. But if you have anyone else supporting customer service or content creation, this is a great platform

Pros

  • The approval process for posts is very straightforward.
  • If permissions are properly set up, it is very easy to write and schedule most types of posts.
  • The ability to set up custom moderation feeds is great.

  • Social listening - pulling in mass amounts of data.
  • Publishing - creating a content calendar and publishing to multiple platforms.
  • User interface - it has a fairly intuitive UI.

Cons

  • It would be great if Adobe scheduled video uploads for Twitter.
  • A time change in a social post automatically puts the post back to Level 1 of approvals. It can be a big hassle to have to start the process over for such a small change.
  • Adobe uses a different algorithm to measure engagement our company does. It would be great to upload your own algorithm into Adobe.

  • Calendar view should allow for clicking and dragging of posts to reschedule the time of the post.
  • Platform does not allow for moderation of posts through keyword filters which is crucial for keeping our client's pages clean.
  • Social Studio account representatives are not completely knowledgable and competent when explaining the tool or answering questions.
  • Does not allow native video posting
  • Does not allow LinkedIn photo posts

Adobe Social simply has too many bugs, and promised ROI metrics that either did not work, or could be found elsewhere. It simply is not worth the money. It needs a major review by Adobe.

I spent a lot of time researching the right platform for me and our organisation (thanks to the other reviews on TrustRadius also). Having used other platforms when I found frustrations getting my everyday work done, I knew exactly what I wanted and this is why I chose Social Studio. While there have been a few hiccups, the quarterly update releases and the outstanding tech support have kept me more than happy.

Usability

Social moves at the speed of light, Adobe Social doesn't. I found posting via the system very cumbersome.

It looks good, is easy to use and totally customisable to individual users. It does everything I need in one place. I spend many hours of everyday in this platform and I still like it!

Support

The Adobe support team is really helpful. We have recently gone through a number of account reps since our favorite rep was promoted off of our account, so we are hoping for better service in our newest rep.

I am able to contact support directly via email rather than through an account manager. I get a support auto response immediately with a case number. I usually get an initial response from a support person via email within a 24 hour period and then if it's not resolved quickly I get further phone of email support until the matter resolved. I always get an email asking if I am happy with the resolution before the case is closed

Online Training

Adobe Social6.0

Training was long and a little confusing. While a number of features carried over, they were still covered in this elongated training. It would have been nice to have training tailored to experience level with the product.

Implementation

Adobe Social5.0
Based on 1 answer
The implementation was done during our POC. We had a very mixed experience here, and have had some issues arise since based on the way the tool was implemented. An Adobe employee went ahead and made a change to our account that was unauthorized (helpful for our implementation) which caused issues in on boarding another team who needed the same change, but could not get it done without costly Adobe certification

Alternatives Considered

I would say that Adobe Social combines all the best qualities of its competitors into one platform. It has moderation capabilities similar to Buddy Media and publishing capabilities like Social Studio

Social Studio has an easily accessible calendar view of content which helps with management of scheduled posts. Our agency also had a lengthy test trial of Social Studio because of our current Buddy Media contract so the transition was smooth and simple. Buddy Media and Social Studio are both owned by Salesforce

Return on Investment

  • Scheduling posts for client approval has streamlined our process.
  • The inability to schedule video posts on Twitter has created extra work at times for Community Managers.
  • The analytics portion is hardly used anymore due to different algorithms, not a great return on investment.
  • Moderation through Adobe gives us a great way to keep track of engaged users on our pages.

  • Allows posts to go live without having someone manually post them.
  • Allows easy review of daily and weekly content.
  • Increases team efficiency.
