Adobe Social is well suited for writing and scheduling most posts. It's less appropriate for Twitter video and social analytics depending on the needs of your client. Other products worth looking at are Hootsuite or Sprout Social

SocialFlow

For brands that are diving into their own content marketing and thought leadership, and building up "owned" media platforms, SocialFlow is a great tool to build audience, manage distribution and give insight. They also just launched a LinkedIn capability which lets you increase engagement with a business audience and even target the LinkedIn audience by title, function, geography, etc

  • Posting to three outlets/channels at once
  • Tracking various campaigns
  • Ability to scale the use from basic/simple to complex
  • Easy to edit channels separately before posting/scheduling

  • Unique algorithm does not just 'time' posts, it helps determine the optimal time for posts to be distributed. Its why all the major publishers like NYT, WSJ, Conde Nast, Mashable, etc. use SocialFlow to distribute its social content.
  • Dashboard gives insight into which posts perform best.
  • It's streamlined and simple and not overly or unnecessarily feature-laden.

The Adobe support team is really helpful. We have recently gone through a number of account reps since our favorite rep was promoted off of our account, so we are hoping for better service in our newest rep.

Online Training

Implementation

The implementation was done during our POC. We had a very mixed experience here, and have had some issues arise since based on the way the tool was implemented. An Adobe employee went ahead and made a change to our account that was unauthorized (helpful for our implementation) which caused issues in on boarding another team who needed the same change, but could not get it done without costly Adobe certification

Alternatives Considered

I didnt have the option to select it for this client. They came to us with this tool. I believe it's quality and has a lot to offer in terms of really driving Social ROI with an integration with bitly

Hootsuite allows for timing and managing multiple accounts but it doesn't optimize -- simply 'timing' a tweet doesn't mean it's going at the right time. It's also kind of an awkward platform and I find the search tools confusing sometimes and clunky.

Return on Investment

  • Adobe Social has only had negative impact on ROI, as it takes longer to publish to social media while offering no major benefits in return.
  • We have lost a lot of time due to downtime in Adobe Social, some of which was not ever scheduled or announced in advance.
  • Now that Adobe Social is being retired, we're also having to migrate to another tool which is time-consuming. But at least it's time we feel good about spending!
