Adobe Social is not well suited to any type of social publishing, reporting or listening, particularly on a large scale within a major enterprise. It can, on occasion, completely fail to do what is asked of it. Customer support is slow and representatives often don't even read the ticket properly and ask questions answered by the ticket.

Sysomos Expion

Sysomos Expion is best suited, in my opinion, to offices where either you have only one moderator/manager OR where multiple users plan to manage a specific channel. Without live updates, it gets far too complicated for multiple users to manage the exact same workload

  • Sysomos Heartbeat: the proactive social media monitoring software. The dashboard was efficient and minimalist, and provided detailed reporting on where the social conversation was held for each individual hotel. The rich data and the simplicity of the dashboard made this tool particularly useful and easy to implement -- it was also easier to train new employees with the software.
  • Sysomos Heartbeat: We also used it to keep track of any crisis that arose. The tool made it easy to catch any spikes in conversation that would spread rapidly either across one channel or multiple channels.
  • Customer Service: Our hotels receive lots of inquiries, requests, payments, and reviews through various social channels. Sysomos helped keep track of them.

Cons

  • I think better exporting tools and features should be utilized. Adobe Social can be a great interface, but it can be difficult to effectively generate exports with selective data sets.

I am definitely going to recommend that my company keep using Sysomos Expion. It is a great program that helps us stay organized and ahead of the game. I really enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone who was interested in using it. It is easy to use and will help you in your day to day tasks.

Every time I had a question, I received a fast detailed response and help when I needed it. If a feature was not currently available, it was often added to a list of features to be added at a later time or the team provided me with a workaround that worked almost as well..

Implementation

The implementation was done during our POC. We had a very mixed experience here, and have had some issues arise since based on the way the tool was implemented. An Adobe employee went ahead and made a change to our account that was unauthorized (helpful for our implementation) which caused issues in on boarding another team who needed the same change, but could not get it done without costly Adobe certification

Alternatives Considered

That version of Hootsuite you can't even edit posts on separate channels prior to scheduling or posting. Analytics isn't as easy to use. Overall, not a great product in comparison.

Expion is just bland compared to the other applications. It is functional but it doesn't look polished. It is like your second choice. It could be better, but it works in the now for what I am doing.
