For my particular use I would say the analyzing of data and identifying issues with employee data is very robust. The ability to identify and point out segments of data that may be incorrect is great. We use ADP to ensure that the data being listed on our 1095 is accurate. We also use them to ensure we are in compliance with our Safe Harbor testing and requirements

We have a large population of employees who don't have access to a computer during the day (and some who don't own one at home). The phone app is great! They can see their paystubs, request vacation, look at their benefits, etc., all on their phones. This is a great feature. Kronos is very easy to customize which is helpful because every employee and manager has different preferences on what is on their home page, how they use the system, what they want to see in the system and what they don't want to see. I think it would be very wise of Kronos to find a new partner in regards to taxes. BSI is no where near the kind of company or has the kind of system that Kronos provides. I have been so frustrated at times with BSI that I have thought about switching the entire HRIS system to someone else so I don't have to deal with BSI. The partnership makes Kronos look bad.

Pros
- The ability to breakdown the data into segments allows us to zero in on errors or problems that we can focus on in order to correct those issues.
- The information is presented in an easy to understand interface which is very user-friendly and very intuitive. I have used the interface in the past to change data or approvals of forms. It was something I could figure out on my own due to it being so easy to navigate.
- ADP Compliance is very good at pulling in the data and identifying issues and presenting it in method that is easy to work off of. We have many employees and the files we sent over were uploaded and processed. The errors were quickly identified so we could focus on correcting the problem employees.

It completely automates the process of running anniversary and birthday reports and instead you spend a short amount of time (only once) setting up who gets the notifications and what they say and the system then does the rest for you. You can have the notifications sent to a particular person or each employee's managers. I used to have to run monthly reports and figure out who had anniversaries and when they had them and then keep track and manually notify each supervisor. Kronos has taken that and completely automated it.
- The reports in Kronos are completely customizable. There are a large number of canned reports but within each of those reports, you have the ability to easily add or remove additional data. You can then save those reports and make them company wide or only for your use. If a manager then runs that report, only the employees who are assigned to that particular manager will show up on the reports.
- I have used several other HRIS systems in my career and Kronos' reporting functions are by far the best and easiest to use that I have come across.
- The workflow process is great. If you aren't sure how to set up a particular workflow, Kronos support will walk you through it. It's great how you have so many options of what happens during the HR Action or Payroll Action processes. The one we use the most, across the entire organization, is our workflow for vacation requests. Prior to Kronos, we had paper forms that the employee completed, then the manager signed, then they were sent to HR who had to keep track of them and process them during payroll. Now, the employee requests it online, the manager receives and e-mail that the employee requested time off, the manager approves or denies and then the employee receives e-mail notification of the approval or denial. Employees can see their balances which was not the case before we started using Kronos. Everything is automated and doesn't need my attention.

- I would love to see a more robust testing environment after the data has been uploaded. For example, different life events to ensure they are appearing on the 1095's as they should. If the data is going across correctly that seems to be the end point of testing. I identified a few concerns and had them corrected but I wish they had done some more checks after the data had come over in reference to changes.

We have begun looking for other vendors to supply this products need as Kronos WFR cannot deliver the suite of applications which it should with this product.*6/5/17 Edit - We started the new year with a new application. WFR proved to be unable to correct the errors within the application. We are much happier with the new application as we can use it effectively.

While some tasks such as updating an employee's basic info, password, and approver preferences are very easy to do and straightforward (all combined on a single employee maintenance page and updateable through a single 'save'), other items prove to be more cumbersome such as navigating through multiple layers of employees when you are up higher in management with more system rights

We were always told that Kronos was the best, but there are reports that we got out of ADP and other payroll providers that we cannot get out of Kronos. One example is a report of Productive/Non-productive hours by department. We also need the dollar amount associated with the hours. This is information that is required on our cost report and we were told that that report is unavailable. It is very frustrating when I can't get what I need.

I like the tracking system that documents all questions and responses. The timing of response is generally pretty good - within a day, but if there is something critical to processing a payroll that day - be ready to make executive decisions to "guess" and fix it later. So far most of our support issues have resulted in "a glitch in the program that will be escalated" or a workaround to force accurate calculations, but [support is] unable to explain why certain errors/changes occurred.

Both companies offer the software necessary and the systems for reporting. I do prefer ADP's interface as they have done a good job in making it easy to understand the data. ADP was already in place when I arrived but have been very pleased. The biggest differentiation for me is also customer service. The team I use with ADP is wonderful with a lot of knowledge and experience in the space. They help ensure we meet all requirements and are always willing to assist us when needed

The first basic requirement of a timesheet should be to reflect completely what is paid on a given paycheck period. The timesheet has to be simple enough for all employees to be able to view and see how the pay from the time system matches to the pay in their paycheck whether it's calculated using the same software or if integrated with another payroll software. Kronos Workforce Ready does this well.

- Time is something that we just don't have at my business. We rely on ADP Compliance to ensure we are meeting the ACA requirements -freeing up our team to focus on other items.
