QuickBooks Enterprise

QuickBooks is appropriate for a smaller business with just a few departments. As the business grows and there is an increased need for budgeting, forecasting, and planning tools; that's where QuickBooks falls short in my opinion.

Pros

  • The concept is good
  • Help is available
  • User friendly
No photo available
  • I like being able to attach documents in QuickBooks
  • Downing loading of bank transactions works well
  • I like the graphic user interface with the desk top edition
  • I like that I can use one Enterprise edition to support more than client at a time.
  • Like that my clients with multiple companies do not have to purchase multiple QuickBooks

Cons

  • ADP Streamline billing is slow to react to company changes. Hence incorrect invoices from ADP Streamline were issued and it took a very long time to get their billing department to correct these and issue credit notes.
  • In the payroll system I missed not being able to obtain a per country headcount and payroll numbers. Once payroll is processed it goes directly into an archive and is not easily viewable. It would be nice to have more visibility of personnel and payroll data.

  • Inventory is still a weakness unless you purchase the inventory add-on
  • Needs to be fewer work around processes
  • You can no longer purchase the desktop version

QB is a good and reliable system. We probably should have explore the other modules rather that jump in to the conclusion that we needed a new ERP.

It is a very easy system to learn, so with the help it was even easier. QB is a good solid system, but it lacks some of the complexity other systems have. with QB you need to get additional modules to get the same functionality that other systems offer standard

easy to learn system, specially with some kind of support. Just like with any other system, things get lot easier if you have guidance to lead you in your search for answers. having said that, QB is very easy to use and very easy to teach. you wont spend much time memorizing where to click.

The only other software program I have used is Quicken and it is not at all effective within the size company I work for. We have inventory, billing, customer/vendor/employee fields and multiple bank accounts including credit card accounts. QuickBooks tracks all these fields and you can run a report on about anything for your CPA. Profit & Loss Reports, Balance Sheet Reports and Standard Cashflow Reports for Owner/Officers forecast and budgets/

QBX to QBA is a great feature and easy way to transfer client records for a CPA review. The file is small enough to email and converts quickly giving the CPA access to all records as of a cutoff date. The CPA's adjustments and changes won't affect the client's records.

It is not a fair rating because we did not invest in different modules to accommodate for business grow and complexity expansion.
