I don't believe ADP is well suited to the PEO market. Small businesses, who typically rely on PEOs, need service. A company like ADP makes profit from high volume. The small business owner is not serviced well by ADP and in fact, is subject to being out of statutory compliance with state reporting requirements. That is not well suited to any business

Oracle HCM Cloud

Works at old fashioned government organizations, doesn't work well with start ups coming from Bamboo HR. For example, start ups use a new cloud based system that is less expensive but they don't set it up properly so I have found it hard to get all the necessary data from this system. The HCM is great for government contractors because it is FEDRamp approved.

Pros

  • It does a great job of keeping track of all your pay at various other jobs that also use ADP TotalSource. You can easily log in and verify any information that you might need to check on.
  • The privacy feature is really great so that only you can see documents with financial information on them.
  • The app is also really handy and easily accessible. You can pull up anything in a pinch if you don't have access to your work computer at the same time that you need to look up something.

  • Integrating the modules together, the system knows what items are associated with each other and then works properly to talk to each other.
  • Communicating about environment upgrades and downtimes, Oracle sends out many emails on when the test vs. prod environments will be upgraded and what the key changes are.
  • Promote the brand (OOW, MBX, etc.)- Oracle hosts many conferences throughout the year to bring clients and partners together to continue the growth of the organization and cloud based systems.

Cons

  • I wish that there was a feature that would allow you to do some financial planning with your money.
  • If you can't remember your password or username, it is really hard to retrieve and they always take a long time to get back to you.
  • One other con is that it is not always the easiest to navigate and sometimes you don't realize that you have gone to a different screen and then it gets you out of everything and you have to do the log in process all over. This would be more of an issue if you were using a computer instead of the mobile app.

  • Delivered Oracle reports don't have enough parameters to limit data that is returned. For example, for our payroll, the Payroll Costing report for one pay period returns too many rows for Excel.
  • OTBI is both easy to use and hard to use. If you don't know the exact field name, you cannot report on it.
  • Workflows are overly complicated to create
  • Payroll is not a part of HR in our company. The delivered roles and functions are making it difficult for us to get our jobs done - we are having to give inappropriate HR roles to payroll, and right now, HR cannot see ANY payroll data (even though roles are split between user roles and data roles - we cannot get this to work).
  • Of all things, direct deposit maintenance is overly complicated. Easy to create an initial account - very hard to update it (this is true for both users and payroll).

The rating of 5 was provided as I am not a decision maker in the organization with regards to the selection of vendor tools, that being said if I were in a decision making capacity in the organization; TALEO would be my choice for the following reasons:1) Ease of use2) Ease to train new employees on the use of the product3) Great customization options4) Ability to integrate with other enterprise applications

Oracle has an excellent support model. The challenge is in adopting this support model and making traditional IT and non-mature system administrators use this model. In combination with the Oracle Cloud (client) Community, the support is excellent.

There is a lot of potential on Fusion. We have reaped about 10% of potential benefits. Especially on Workforce Intelligence, the opportunities are huge. The reason why we do not use the solution at its full potential is not in the product (which is simple and transparent). A roadmap is under construction to bring more of its potential to the end user.

Alternatives Considered

We use ADP simply to to track pay for employees. We really like more of the functionality of Workday as it is really easy to import org charts and track performance. The graphics and appearance of these sections are also really nice! We also use Workday to track time off as it was more popular among employees to use when we asked them to compare more options. However, ADP is much better at tracking pay and because it carries information over from previous jobs, employees really like this as well!

Great improvement on most packages. Oracle Expenses is not as advanced as Concur, and our users miss that package.

Return on Investment

  • It has helped us to keep track of various financial information for employees and this has helped our HR department.
  • We were trying to find a system that was more user-friendly and many people are able to use this pretty easily.
  • We found more cost effective methods to do absence management and goal setting because this system was too expensive and cumbersome for us.
