ADP Vantage HCM is well suited for a variety of industries. While the product is delivered with a great solution for office employees, it is configurable to accommodate unique working situations and special pay items for operations employees.

Kenexa

Kenexa is is well suited for any organization that has more than 3000 employees globally. I would not recommend this to startups or a growing organization with less than 3000 employees. But once you cross this number, Kenexa becomes useful and is a brilliant tool for global operations - recruiting. I would recommend this tool to any organization that has offices in many countries/geographies as well.

  • BrassRing did make it easy to create and post new jobs as well as unpost and close filled jobs.
  • Kenexa 2x BrassRing is capable of running many useful reports for keeping track of candidate flow and overall recruitment progress.

Cons

  • functionality is spotty - some things work differently depending on the field or page you are on - but not consistently across the application - some user ID fields need to use a leading zero - some you cannot use a leading zero
  • lots of wasted space which requires the use of slide bars to view info - tons of extra key strokes to view or get into the information you want
  • not a lot of thought given to how users will utilize/interact with the application - during our testing phase we were finding issue that should have been resolved in beta testing - some reports the headers are illegible due to poor formatting which we were told were a 'vantage design' and that we would get used to it
  • the best way to get system enhancement requests to ADP is to complain/comment on The Bridge was the direction we were given
  • we had a fully functional system which did all that we needed and were forced to 'upgrade' to a product which does not provide the basic functions that we had on the 'old/outdated' application - would have expected to get at least what we had plus some new functionality - now forced to redesign processes and find ways to work around vantages' limitations

  • Setting up integrations is extremely tedious. For instance, setting up an address feed would have required sending over 5 different spreadsheets on a daily basis (one each for every facility name, street address, zip code, state, country) and a 6th sheet to make the connection between the other 5 elements. We opted not to set up that integration as a result.

We have used Kenexa BrassRing since 2001, it wasn't even called BrassRing then. Our systems and procedures are so embedded in using BrassRing it would require a significant financial commitment from management to make a change.

A lot of set ups vary from company to company so parts of our training we found it difficult to relate it to our processes. They have TONS of training modules available and a streamlined process for what you should complete and when. Would have been helpful to have onsite training for how much one pays for the system.

Alternatives Considered

PayForce did everything we needed with less dependence on ADP and at lower cost - Vantage cost more, delivers less and makes us more dependent on ADP - if we had an option we would have stayed on that platform.

Return on Investment

  • So far this product is not what we were looking for in a product. We had one that worked well and worked for us. Being put on a product that is not fully functioning for what we need and being told that it basically is what it is and we need to learn to deal with the new product is not the best customer experience. I am hoping that through enhancements that this product lives up to promise that was made when we were told we were moving to it.
