Well-suited for companies with 10 or more employees. The more employees the more efficient ADP is for all aspects. Less appropriate for small companies where payroll and reporting is very manageable.

I think iSolved is perfect for a small business, that wants to avoid the high costs of using ADP or Paychex, and similarly want to have an all-in-one solution for their HR needs. Unlike other HCM programs that offer an all-in-one suite, I still have complete control over what products I offer to my employees. iSolved just helps me manage it all in one place.

Pros

  • Allows updates within HR function to link directly with payroll and deductions.
  • Manage time and attendance and use those records to pay hourly employees accordingly.
  • Create time off policies and link those policies and requests directly to employees' time sheets to help ensure proper recording of time and attendance data.
  • Utilization of one system to link all time and HR data in one place.

  • iSolved does a great job of having everything you need for HR/Payroll, all in one place. It is easy to log everything about your employees: personal information, business certifications, salary history, etc. It is easy for their managers and supervisors to approve their time off requests, and view other information to their level of clearance.
  • Payroll processing is a breeze, with the ability to process payroll for full time, part time, and hourly employees.
  • Though we don't use it, iSolved offers Time Cards so employees can log their time at their desk every day.

Cons

  • Customizing the portal could be easier. It is difficult to understand the instructions that are there.
  • Since the support center was upgraded, it is a little less user friendly, but still has excellent information. Logs you out of the support center too quickly.
  • The tech support for EZlabor and the portal administration is shaky. ADP needs to seriously look at this issue because I can call twice in the same day and get totally different information for the same issue, but the issue is not fixed. This is for tech support, not to be confused with the payroll customer service - they are excellent.
  • Does not work well at all with Internet Explorer, but it does work well with Google Chrome.

  • I would like it to be easier to add a supplementary payroll when processing a payroll outside of our normal bi-weekly schedule.
  • The way that PTO hours are accrued and displayed on their paychecks can be a bit confusing to the employees.

Support

ADP has gone back to the designated "team support" module for clients on the newer versions of WFN, and the introduction of "The Bridge" has just added additional resources for problem resolution. It is a blog of current users who can share ideas/solutions in real time. And open case numbers are relatively east to track, and will allow the clients to view status of specific cases in the near future. We currently have no open items!

The instructions from the recruiting agency on how to use the system was pretty straightforward. It provided step-by-step procedures on where you would need to log in your hours as well as what you would need to highlight (i.e. regular, overtime, etc.) detailing the type of hours that were worked overall. The handout also provided some pictures of the application

Implementation

Either assign more than one specialist to the implementation process, or assign less clients to the implementation specialist. The process requires attention to detail and the ability to test and re-test as well as verify the information. It also requires a lot of back and forth between the client ant the implementation specialist, so they need to be readily available during the whole implementation process.

Alternatives Considered

ADP Workforce Now is NOT ADP's most impressive product (previous versions like ADP Enterprise were far superior) but ADP in general is my preference. Systems I have used:Ceridian- The Payroll Tax function/reporting/filing/amendment process was not as strong as ADP. HR was an afterthought. Workday- I was not impressed with their Payroll module, or Payroll Tax Table/Setup. The HCM module was fantasticADP Enterprise- Very consistent all around. Great support model, massive Reporting capabilities, global ability (used ADP Streamline and maintained headcount for 16 countries with no issues)

Return on Investment

  • ADP Workforce Now has really moved our organization into a self-service model. We utilize mobile access, iPay, employee engagement via the Portal, etc.
  • The complete separate between HR and Payroll is very challenging and, to be honest, unacceptable. We have learned to work with it but it is a very poor model for Corporate America. But, ADP knows this and will no longer sell this product. Anyone converting to ADP now will have the latest and greatest which hopefully will meet the reporting/functionality of their biggest competitors.
  • The most positive area of WFN is Benefit Administration. It does it all and is very easy to use.

  • iSolved has had a very positive impact on our business. As the control, I am able to have all things payroll and HR related at my fingertips at any time. I can make changes on the fly, in-between payrolls, instead of waiting to call them into the payroll company. My employees are able to answer a lot of questions themselves, which saves me a lot of time. And when they do come to me, I am able to answer questions quickly. The overall satisfaction with iSolved is very high.
