AdTech is best for when you're examining data based on clicks or "likes" – if you're looking to get an idea of what your audience is looking for, you can examine a trend among certain users to determine what drives users and where. This is super helpful for social media managers and web developers. It helps them determine where to drive their UI/UX design

If you don't care where your campaigns are running, if you don't care about your clients then feel free to do business with them.I would not recommend them to other agencies or business if they have a lot of particular advertisers and clients that they work with. It is too much work for them.If you want to do a self-service model with Simpli.fi, then I could recommend working with them. As long as I don't have to deal with their customer service daily, and my company has the control of the campaigns, I can feel more comfortable working with them. But even still, there are a lot of red flags that have been raised over the last few years and I am skeptical.

Pros

ADTECH

  • Adtech follows an algorithm that learns as you use it. It helps process data based on you (or your user) to help determine the best experiences for your client. Pretty neat.
  • Adtech helps streamline work by consolidating workflow. Everybody can be on the same page because everything is accessible to anybody in the organization (security pending, obviously). It helps because the data is available if you need it – and you don't have to fetch anything for anybody.
  • Adtech is best for larger organizations – and the developers who help create the technology understand that. Working with an interface like Adtech is simple, and easy to use. I can't remember what I did before it!

  • Their geo-fencing capabilities are by far one of the best in the market. The reporting capabilities on the back end for geo-fencing is great & the way they can get down to a pinpoint location is great.
  • Having access to the amount of exchanges that they partner with is great for a small agency that wouldn't normally have that reach.

Cons

  • The algorithm is a little...well, dumb, at first. And at times it can stay dumb. We've had users complain of clicking on a click-bait headline for an article, and getting ads that represent something else entirely (off to the side, of course). This doesn't make our clients happy.
  • AdTech can be prone to crash at times – randomly – it's a little unpredictable, you may want to make sure that your database can handle a streamlined workload. Doesn't work well with older tech.
  • Customer service at AdTech is okay, but there's always room for improvement. The support is good, but I don't like being put on hold.

  • Their customer service over the last couple of years has been severely lacking! It has been an absolute terrible experience which has made us re-evaluate our plans of moving forward with them.
  • They over-promise & under-deliver constantly. Even though they say they have the best geo-fencing capabilities in the market and that's how they sell you on it, they take short cuts which inevitably makes their "glamorous" product look bad. If you send them the form that they have requested you to fill out, it ends up putting a radius around each fence. That isn't acceptable, just because they are "short staffed" or its too much work is no excuse to screw over the client.
  • A lot of times when we are getting questions from our clients that are truly relevant and are a cause for concern & we take that information back to Simpli.fi we feel like we are getting their "BS" answer. They talk a lot of game, but can't back it up when it comes down to it.
  • The sites that their inventory runs on is extremely alarming - we could never show that to a client when it is such garbage.
  • When we request keyword lists for Search Retargeting - we give them as much information as possible for the client + their website to pull keywords from. We could be running a restaurant and we could get keywords back for stock prices, linkedin, how to make donuts etc. Thousands & thousands of keywords that are completely irrelevant to our client and our cause.

Alternatives Considered

Maybe Google Analytics? But even that doesn't offer the same amount of services as AdTech – and I think that's because this is what AdTech does, and Google is spread a little thin. I use several different platforms, but I did have a lot of fun working with Adtech. Bottom line is, if you're a social media manager and you're tired of using other programs, give AdTech a shot

We have done a lot of research on many other vendors that offer the same or even more as Simpli.fi and have found a great fit for our business. There are many other options out there for programmatic buying! My advice to you is do your research. Don't just jump into bed with one without knowing all of the facts. Ask questions. Do some digging. And NEVER take anything they say at face value. They are there to sell you the product and if you move forward, you will for sure be disappointed

  • AdTech helps us view data based on user likes, clicks, and analyze trends among our audience.
  • What I don't like about AdTech is that it can sometimes put some people out of a job, as it streamlines work to the point that some on payroll may be...well, unnecessary.

  • We have actually seen quite a bit of negative impact because of poor performance & poor quality of sites & keywords, we have lost quite a bit of business.
  • Regardless of any negative impact, we still are able to offer this as a service to our clients, which in turn we do make money off of.
