AdvancedPM (formerly ADP AdvancedMD)

I believe ADP AdvancedMD is best suited for a small-medium size practice. I could see where it may not be best suited for an eye doctor or hospital type setting. Otherwise, it is great for all other specialties. I have used it at a billing service as well and it was wonderful!

PointClickCare

PointClickCare is more suited for long-term care; less suited for independent or assisted living but they are making great strides. Reporting and dashboards could be more robust but by far this is better than any of the other products out there currently for long-term care. Financial Setup is cumbersome and could be more fluent or intuitive with better programming. UI is changing to a more modern look which is great. Training options could be better as not everyone does well with eLearning

Pros

  • The customer service at ADP AdvancedMD is second to none. The just created an 'Idea Share' area where clients can talk to each other and offer suggestions on making the software better. They listen to their clients and take suggestions into consideration when considering what updates to include in their next release.
  • The product is very user friendly on both sides (PM and EHR). I have used other products in the past and find ADP AdvancedMD to be to be easiest to navigate.
  • Training and Implementation is great! They give clients the tools and resources necessary to be successful. From an online help file, to videos, to a consultant to help get you started, ADP AdvancedMD wants you to succeed.

Cons

  • Just recently we had an incident in which none of our employees could access the training.advancemd.com training materials. After extensive trouble shooting it was determined the issue was not with the local network, PC configuration, or firewalling. The AdvanceMD support personnel were not empowered to escalate this case as it should have been. Ultimately a correction in the server configuration for the training materials cleared up the issue, but not with assistance from Tier 1 support personnel.
  • Integration with the scanners can be problematic and has been a headache. Even with the Fujitsu scanners, the best in the business, we had challenges and found that some of the Tier 1 support staff were not trained or did not have access to the necessary documentation to fix the issue. The issues were eventually resolved but not without time lost in the process.

I have implemented PCC in over 100 buildings and have used it for almost 5 years. I can count maybe 2 times in 5 years when PCC downtime caused an issue for our facilities. I would say their availability rating exceeds a 10 compared to other software systems.

Have already stated. People learn differently and PCC needs to adapt to that model instead of all eLearning. Offer the client different learning packages.

Alternatives Considered

I love that ADP AdvancedMD is web-based and you can use it from anywhere you have internet access. Support is available 8am-8pm EST, so someone is always there to help if needed. I'm excited about the ICD-10 tools they are giving clients to assist with that process. They do regular software updates and listen to client feedback when deciding what updates to perform and the updates are no cost to the clients

Each software that we had previously was best in KLAS at one time or another. However, they were individual software solutions instead of one solution for all of our business objectives. PCC has made it easier for our financial and clinical staff to have one tool that spans the employee lifecycle and that interacts with the different departments. Our facilities now have a real EMR instead of a parsed out product half on paper and half in the computer.
