Agency Analytics

Agency Analytics is one of the best website rank tracking tools that I have used so far. I feel like it shows a great amount of insight into the fluctuation of ranking over time. This tool is extremely helpful for B2B marketing agencies where you need to be able to show progress to your clients. Also, the ability to see the results in a live SERPs page gets rid of the trouble of showing a client the live result when you're not next to each other.

Pros

  • I love the keyword "pool" system that Agency Analytics uses. We purchase a certain number of keywords (6,000) and then we can spread those across our accounts as we see fit. If we need more keywords for another company, we can remove them from an existing one without losing them. That also means that we can change keywords, add keywords, and remove keywords instantly from reports without waiting 30 days for them to re-run.
  • The customizability of the dashboard is new and awesome. We are able to create dashboard templates to use for our clients that shows exactly what we want it to. It also allows us to add text and links to explain certain aspects that might not be readily understandable to people outside the industry.
  • I also really appreciate the ability to send clients their own logins to the site. We add clients in as users to view their own reports at any time.
  • Agency Analytics runs results all day long and allows you to hover over the result to view more information as well as click to view the result in the SERPs.

  • We love NetBase because it is completely customizeable. In the healthcare space, we need to present data differently than other consumer goods. NetBase allows us to present data how we want to, change the "sentiment" of words, customize the word clouds to our needs, etc.
  • We have very different needs in the healthcare space than other consumer products. Sometimes we are looking for patient insights on a very rare disease, sometime it may be brand perceptions, sometimes it may be activity surrounding an "awareness day," etc. This requires us reading many of the actual posts. Unlike other services, NetBase allows us to read many of the posts, and also helps us organize the posts so we can read them easily and efficiently.
  • NetBase customer service has always been very responsive and helpful. I can count on them to answer my questions in a thorough and timely manner.

  • There is so much available data, it can be difficult to sort through it and know what is most helpful and relevant.
  • The social media piece is nice to have, but not a deep resource for those who need more than it offers.

  • NetBase has implemented many changes recently, but did not keep us informed. A newsletter or something like that would help.
  • I noticed a couple of problems with the data, but I was told they were due to "glitches" which was not very helpful.
  • We find a lot of repeats of the same exact posts, which seems odd and skews the data.

Very simple to use, quick to pick up on the key principles, and a task-centric design (ie. Topics to set up what you want to analyze, Analysis to do the exploration/analysis, and Dashboards to pull results and findings together to generate reports.) All intuitive, drag & drop etc.

NetBase constantly updates the platform with features. The platforms ability to analyze complex social listening topics is exceptional. Its fast and gives you the ability to create standardized reports for a quick topic analysis. Additionally, the standard overview tab provides the topic at a glance and assists in quickly identifying areas to further analyze. Great product with excellent support behind it!

Account managers and analyst support are all very responsive, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. When the first line of support can't immediately resolve a problem, they manage expectations and effectively communicate what is being done and estimated timelines.

We had an internal implementation meeting with the NetBase team as well as a business seat implementation for one of our clients. I would highly recommend having all stakeholders attend an implementation meeting as they can understand the power of this platform.

Alternatives Considered

I've used Moz fairly extensively and I've found Agency Anaytics overall is a better tool for managing and monitoring keywords and SEO improvement opportunities. It's easy to use, quick to set up and less expensive than Moz.

We've used several different social media tools, and Netbase is by far the best. It's easy to understand (after a topic is set up), easy to export and looks very clean for client presentations. With Radian 6, we got a word cloud, but had to create any other graphs and visuals by hand since they only exported to an Excel. It was the same with Simply Measured, the reporting was just ugly and unpresentable to clients. Visible Intelligence was just inaccurate, and kept pulling in spam posts that were full of porn

  • Increased efficiency for sure; we used to put in at least 6-8 hours for a social media audit, and that can now be done in 2-3 tops. We also used to spend a large amount of hours on reporting. Netbase makes this process much less cumbersome
  • It's also led to an increased understanding of our two core industries: Food ingredients and building products
  • It's also contributed to a more integrated environment. Too often, we get segmented into our departments. Netbase allows for everyone in the agency to be involved.
