HubSpot CRM

Hubspot CRM as a stand-alone free product is great if you are just getting started, are very small, and don't have a huge list or a lot of complexity to the list. It's easy to maintain great records, send personal emails to contacts, get information on contacts, segment your list into actionable groupings with filters, and so forth. If you need reporting from your CRM setup, don't use Hubspot unless you're going to pay for additional functionality from their Hub products (Marketing, Sales, or Service). You don't get much reporting functionality without paying.

Pros

  • The functionality of creating the campaign is very well thought out. It's extremely intuitive and I'm able to create what is considered complex campaigns with ease.
  • The ability to add points to the profile of a lead and rank them makes sorting and targeting potential customers very easy.
  • Review profile of a lead is very easy. Custom fields are easy to create and are visible in the profile.

  • The best thing about HubSpot CRM is the ability to track all activities (emails, phone calls, meetings, etc) and link to other documents (quotes, meeting notes, etc) so we have one place where we can access anything we need to best serve our prospects and clients.
  • The integration with the HubSpot marketing platform is a huge plus as well, since we can easily see what workflows a prospect has been through, what downloads they have made, and when they reengage on our site. It's great for helping know when they're ready for another call or email.
  • HubSpot CRM is a fantastic single point of entry for prospect/client information so other people within the company can see what interactions have been made, when, and what was said/agreed upon. It helps if a client contacts a project manager with information they discussed with their strategist for example. The PM can go right into the CRM and see that email or read notes from the meeting/phone call.
  • The ability to schedule tasks has also been a huge help. It's super quick and easy to schedule a reminder for a follow up call or email right after sending an email or making a call, so you don't have to try and remember or clutter up your calendar with all those reminders. Helps make sure things don't fall through the cracks.

Cons

  • If a lead is marked as "hard bounce", meaning that a sent email bounced, the system will not send any more emails to that lead. The only way to fix this is to delete the lead and add it again. This results in losing all history from the lead.

  • While we are still learning, our most experienced Salesforce user has expressed concerns about customization, as he wants to be able to create custom fields and views.
  • When we transferred contacts from Salesforce to the HubSpot CRM, not all files and emails transferred with the account/contacts. It would be nice if they could follow.
  • The search tools might not be as powerful as Salesforce, but it could also be that we haven't figured out how to use them as well.

The training sessions are very helpful, because you have specialist that is available to answer any questions, guide you and coach you on how to dominate a certain feature of the platform. That being said,Whenever I have an issue that needs to be resolved, I can send email or call a support line. I usually use the support line.

They were quick to respond to questions we had regarding the Hubspot system and would log in to our account directly to see exactly what we were seeing to help resolve issues.

They'd explain the solution so we could learn how and why. If something we were trying to do wasn't possible, they also explained how and why.

It is not as robust as Salesforce, but it appears to be a better fit for us than Zoho. For how we have been using it, the HubSpot CRM is likely a better fit for us than the Salesforce CRM is. For a comparison to cars, the HubSpot CRM is an affordable mid-level sedan and Salesforce is a luxury car. While most people can enjoy the features and amenities of a luxury sedan, most of us only need basic transportation to help us accomplish our goals and to be productive.

This products Starts with a free Limited version. You can upgradeTo an affordable paid version with minimal features. There's also an enterprise version which is what I have. It's much more expensive, however it allows me to access the full range of features available.

Return on Investment

  • Agile CRM is such an integral part of our business, that I can imagine life without it. If we didn't have it, it would mean missing important calls, not following up on key leads, and not having current contact information for many of our clients, vendors, and prospects.
  • In addition to cost savings, agile CRM also helps me save time. It's very responsive, so updating records is not a hassle. I particularly like being able to import details from someone's LinkedIn page without having the type of thing.
