Agile CRM is well suited as a business tool bringing together sales and marketing in a comprehensive and intelligent way. It offers a friendly and user-friendly interface for those looking to integrate with other software products. It allows synchronization and organization of contacts and saves time by eliminating menial administrative tasks.

TargetX

TargetX is very well suited for smaller colleges who do not have all of the resources to manage a pure Salesforce environment for their CRM. They provide great support and direction for different business use cases. They have a product that has been around longer than any other higher ed CRM solution out there in regards to Salesforce. It is likely less appropriate for a school that has a lot of resources and could handle using Salesforce and their HEDA approach to higher ed CRM solutions.

There was a little bit of a learning curve and some bumps along the way to managing this platform, but AgileCRM appears to be responsive to any challenges that arise, which I consider to be of vital importance.

The training sessions are very helpful, because you have specialist that is available to answer any questions, guide you and coach you on how to dominate a certain feature of the platform. That being said,Whenever I have an issue that needs to be resolved, I can send email or call a support line. I usually use the support line.

Each section of the AgileCRM platform has an instructional video that describes in detail all of the features of that section. I found this to be very instructional way to learn about each section. Whenever I had more questions, I could always schedule a conference call with a tutor..

Alternatives Considered

With Agile CRM, I get the most bang for my buck, being a one-man operation. Their selling point that they offer everything you need is very sexy when the budget is limited. At the end of the day, Agile CRM offered a solution to my core business problem (which was centralizing client information) where other platforms do super sexy things, that I really did not need - and most were a lot more expensive.

We transitioned from Hobsons older CRM, Connect, as it was an aging CRM that was not going to be supported much longer. TargetX was right for us at the time as Salesforce did not have a pure data structure for higher education. TargetX provided all of the support and infrastructure to get a Salesforce CRM suited for higher ed. Hobsons Radius is their newer CRM but it is not based on Salesforce and thus is not the leading industry standard.

This products Starts with a free Limited version. You can upgradeTo an affordable paid version with minimal features. There's also an enterprise version which is what I have. It's much more expensive, however it allows me to access the full range of features available.

Return on Investment

  • Helped business because there was a better understanding of the size and profiles of my leads
  • Negative impact - leads were labeled as hard bounce and couldn't send until a lead was deleted and added again. VERY time consuming. Luckily this doesn't happen much.
  • Negative impact - Fake leads are added on a daily basis. AgileCRM doesn't have a double confirmation of added leads. But I believe this is normal in many CRMs and can be managed.

  • We have saved a great deal of money on email campaigns with over half a million contacts
  • Managing of on-campus event registration has been very successful for us.
  • By creating a call center using their Telemarketing component we have been able to increase our enrollment for a number of programs
