UltiPro

Global companies, companies with employees over 100, multistate employers and anybody looking to improve their HRIS system. Companies with only a few employees would not be best suited for this product as I think it is meant for mid-large size companies. Ultipro also offers a lot of support for Canadian companies.

  • Business Intelligence Reporting - The IBM Cognos solution used is robust and flexible and is easy for someone with BI experience to create and manage custom reports.
  • Adding a new hire to the system - This process is simple and easy and value rules can be used to make this even simpler.

  • Time management lacks a little for retail environments. Needs the ability to retain, repeat and publish schedules +30 days in advance as well as the ability to accommodate floating holidays more easily.
  • Our Payroll department would prefer month-end reports to be auto-generated as they were with our prior system (ADP), but this is a minor preference issue, not one of functionality.
  • Implementation was compressed into a 90 day window; would have preferred a longer time due to the additional work this required in a very tight window along with all other end-of-year items.

Nov 2018 Update: I'm always in support of keeping Ultipro at my organization, and I spend a great deal of time showing people how to use it effectively so that they too continue to push for keeping the Ultipro HCM solution when the time comes to decide to renew the HCM solution or not.

April 2016: I use UltiPro every day and find value in all of the features that are available to this organization. While I am not responsible for deciding on staying with this HCM solution and renew it in the future, I am a huge supporter for staying with the solution because it packs quite a punch when used as intended.

The usability of this product is super! Good flow for the navigation, good layout for employees to understand. It does take some training for your employees to figure out some of the features, but those that get used to technology quickly will have no problems. You'll need to spend more time with your late adopters of technology.

UltiPro rarely has a connectivity issue. If so, you immediately are notified via email and it is fixed very quickly. The pages load very fast and there is very little down time or lag time. The reports are amazing! Each and every field is reportable. Simply drag and drop the field into a preview window and you can instantly see a sample of the report you are creating. Even complex reports complete almost instantly

The UltiPro support system is fantastic. As a new client, I was assigned an account manager and had a good hand off from the implementation team to my account manager. The process for submitting and tracking new cases is extremely easy through the Customer Success Portal. While processing payroll, the rapid response hotline is your best option for a quick resolution.The only negative that I would add is that several cases will get added to the list of open cases, by Ultimate support staff, and not much detail is provided when those cases get submitted, so I am not always clear on what is supposed to be done. Especially with the Payment Services area, it would be nice to have them give a little more detail when submitting a case that needs to be addressed.

Training obtained at the Atlanta office is always great. The instructors are very knowledgeable about the subject matter and is open to any decisions a training participant may have regarding the topic. We recently attended the "Year-End" session and our instructor Kellie provided hand-outs and real-work examples on how to handle adjustments related to employee payroll and W2. Kellie is a great instructor and has a vast knowledge on payroll taxes, which made the 2 hour drive to Atlanta noteworthy.

The team we worked with during our UltiPro implementation was the best! They always were available to help and give us a better understanding of how the system works. The biggest key for me was understanding the business rules and how changes impacted various parts of data fields. I thought this was the best knowledge transfer provided for us to use UltiPro on our own in the future

Ultipro is a very well rounded product that had all the features and functunality that we needed. We have also been able to add interfaces to other vendors which has allowed us to effectively and efficiently use our HRIS system. We still have alot of features and functionality that we have not rolled out yet but we are extremely excited to continue to leverage the product in order to enhance and streamline our processes.
