It allows for teamwork and simple assignment of projects among team members. It also enables easy collection of data and analytics and presentation of materials for proving ROI and strategizing future campaigns.

Bazaarvoice Conversations

Bazaarvoice Conversations is really well-suited for when you have a wide variety of products that you need to keep track of. If you just have one or two products that you sell per retailer site, it may not be as valuable because a quick check on the retailer sites will tell you all you need to know. But if you have dozens or more products where checking each one can be tedious, then this is a great option and saves a lot of time.

Pros

  • Easy to use - new members are trained within minutes on using the platform, and more advanced users can quickly find information in the tutorials section.
  • Assigning social interactions to specific team members is a crucial feature of the platform for our team.
  • AgoraPulse has done a good job adding new features and continuing to grow the offerings of an already outstanding social management platform.

  • My company's products are sold by a huge range of retailers/dealers, and we've long recognized the value of having a presence in product reviews. Bazaarvoice's format makes responding to product reviews a much simpler and more efficient process. Reviews are fed to you in a work list, so you don't have to visit each retailer's website to respond.
  • Branded responses to reviews (and product questions) also makes them standout so customers looking for the most informed response can quickly spot it.
  • BV's support path (Spark) is a good resource, though it does make the process feel a bit impersonal. That said, as impersonal as your support tickets begin, it's great to see exactly what progress has been made and all the communication you've received about the issue.

Cons

  • I'm not a fan of the way AgoraPulse pushes images to LinkedIn, which is as a link, rather than a native image. It leads to some clunky-looking posts.
  • One item I'd like to see, which I believe they're working on, is a unified inbox. Having all notifications in one place would make it easier to use as the primary means for responding to and engaging with our audience.
  • While the listening feature is awesome, it's fairly limited for Instagram. I wish there was the ability to create a search with filters based on language, or excluding words/hashtags, etc. There are hashtags I want to listen for, but the volume of nonsense and/or irrelevant posts that use those hashtags makes it difficult to weed through. A better advanced search function for that feature would be a huge benefit.

  • Would be good to have more control over the UI within the dashboard. The control is there, but more flexibility over specific layout in the front end of the website would help.

Alternatives Considered

I tried a few similar tools before I discovered AgoraPulse. Buffer and Post Planner are both good at what they do but ultimately fall short for managing multiple clients. Granted, they're also more affordable - great if you need something simple and you only have a few personal profiles to manage. I also tried Hootsuite, but it's just not for me. I'm sure it's a great tool for many, but I find it needlessly complex with a clunky interface. It's not nearly as intuitive as AgoraPulse, and quite frankly it's just not a good value for small and medium-sized agencies.

Our eCommerce platform is ISAMS so we were previously using the inbuilt product review function within that. ISAMS reviews worked but lacked the bells and whistles of Bazaarvoice, and we had to initiate a fair bit of customisation to get simple functions like keyword blacklisting built in. We also considered Feefo but their proposition is more of an independent 3rd party surfacing review content about numerous businesses in one place. We wanted customer communications relating to our reviews to come from us, not from Feefo, so Bazaarvoice was a better fit for us.

  • The metrics have improved the amount of effort we put towards certain programs on campus based on how students react to them.

  • This has had a positive impact on the way the company identifies user issues and complaints more easily/readily.
  • The negative impact is that departments seem to put a lot more expectations on our customers than this tool can provide (e.g., replies and follow-up), meaning that we aren't as able to provide additional information when requested.
  • It's uncertain whether responding to reviews adds a lot of value when all is said and done. Reviewers rarely adjust their ratings, even if/when we sufficiently address their concerns or resolve issues.
