Large, enterprise-level organisations with distributed teams are going to benefit most from the product. Smaller organisations would benefit from a smaller tool and would likely not have the budget to support a tool of this calibre anyway.

Pros

  • My favorite feature is the ability to schedule a post to multiple platforms (i.e, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) within one screen, but with the added bonus of being able to tweak each platform's post. That means custom URLs w/unique UTM codes, adjusted post length for different platforms, etc. A terrific feature.
  • The content queues are also wonderful. They allow me to find and distribute evergreen content at custom intervals without having to "reschedule" each time. Simply load up the content into a queue, set the days/times for each queue, and how many times you want that content to recycle and BOOM you're done.
  • Beyond that, they're always improving the platform. Each week some tweaks are made, which are announced in a blog post. The customer service is top notch, and they're humans -- meaning they're not just copying & pasting from a script, but they have personality and they listen. This goes a LONG way, and makes it easier to be patient with features that might not yet quite be there, or when there's an issue or unexpected change to an API that affects the platform.

Cons

  • I'm not a fan of the way AgoraPulse pushes images to LinkedIn, which is as a link, rather than a native image. It leads to some clunky-looking posts.
  • One item I'd like to see, which I believe they're working on, is a unified inbox. Having all notifications in one place would make it easier to use as the primary means for responding to and engaging with our audience.
  • While the listening feature is awesome, it's fairly limited for Instagram. I wish there was the ability to create a search with filters based on language, or excluding words/hashtags, etc. There are hashtags I want to listen for, but the volume of nonsense and/or irrelevant posts that use those hashtags makes it difficult to weed through. A better advanced search function for that feature would be a huge benefit.

  • Lithium has been very responsive to our suggestions and needs. Many of the features we've asked for have been implemented via the new analytics tab. Even when we have the occasional hiccup with the system, Lithium's support team is quick to assist and provide a level of transparency that is greatly appreciated.

We just renewed our contracted with LSW and committed to a two year agreement instead of a one year agreement. This speaks to the confidence we have in the product and the employees who create the feature enhancements. This is one of the few companies that allows engineers or management teams to speak right to the customer without going through their sales rep or company contact. The innovation that comes out of this group is nothing short of amazing. We had a special project that we needed to have completed for the SOCHI Olympics and sure enough Lithium was up for the task. They created an early warning system that is now being used throughout the company. I am extremely happy with the product and firmly believe you would be too if you gave them a chance. They truly understand multiple setups and business needs and functions

• The UI is extraordinarily well designed. Particularly in the analytics area, the charts and graphs are beautiful. Not only are they amazing visually, but they make trends and actionable data instantly apparent.

I was very satisfied. It was very smooth as they know what they are asking for. The requirements gathering was smooth. It was a short cycle. Deployment just took a couple of weeks.

After doing a deployment and a release, my recommendations would have been to mine more of our tags, words that I’m looking for, i.e. to pull in a bigger vocabulary from our historical cases of searchable words and phrases. When we eventually did this, it made the system run so much better. We just sucked it out of old cases and run a report which dumps into spreadsheet

Alternatives Considered

Hootsuite has a terrible UI, and is ridiculously priced. They nickel and dime you for things such as reports. For the amount you're paying them, unlimited white labeling reports should come with the price

Hootsuite, Percolate and Salesforce have been reviewed or used in the past. The main benefit of Lithium social management is it is a platform that has been built from the ground up focused on customer service.

  • Increased employee efficiency. Being able to see the setup saves a lot of time, especially if you're going for a very customised contest page.

  • We are in pilot mode today with a limited roll-out but it has already saved us 2 FTEs. We used to have 3 FTEs monitoring social media activity and we’ve been able to reduce to 1. Right now we are only processing c. 100 social media interactions on a monthly basis, but without filtering we would have 100+/day to review.
  • A better customer experience. Customers are so astounded/ pleased/ surprised – our street cred goes up. In our market, customers venting in the support channel are not necessarily expecting a response yet, however when you do reach them, they like it. They are a little surprised that you can find out who they are, but most like to be found. Many have blogs. Every once in a while, they go dark but no one has complained about breaking privacy.
