As stated in their own brochure, it is "best suited to highly regulated markets such as Pharmaceuticals, Food Manufacturing, Energy and Utilities and Government and Not-For-Profit." I believe that this software could be used in several other markets and be just as productive. It is well-suited for companies that want to take existing templates and customize them to meet their own needs.

Performance management yearly reviews! This software is absolutely ideal for this time of year which can prove tremendously stressful for our HR department to manage. It allows goal setting and performance tracking for new hires and throughout the course of their time at our organization. Additionally, the recruitment tool is excellent, I love being able to track where my candidates are in the process, who they’ve met with, etc.

  • It was very easy to set up.
  • It was a very good value considering the cost.
  • The ability to share information, files, etc. with co-workers is a huge plus.

  • It´s a very complete talent management suite, provides complete offers across all talent processes, recruiting, learning, performance, social. SuccessFactors has a high level of functionality.
  • It´s fully configurable application. This allows a rapid implementation and goes live in a short time.
  • It´s easy to use and a very intuitive application.

  • The customer service aspect could also use some additional work.

  • The LMS/learning system is very hard to use from an administrator standpoint, and the support from SuccessFactors in figuring out how to use it is poor.
  • My experiences working with SuccessFactors to resolve issues or answer questions are mostly poor. They do not provide the support and guidance I would expect and it's often difficult to get a timely answer or for someone on their end to take responsibility for fixing an issue
  • It seems to be difficult to make changes to the system after we've gone "live" with a module. It would be nice to have more flexibility

For what it’s supposed to do is intuitive. It didn’t take a roll out of corporate wide training – an average individual can figure it out. We came from iVantage which had no spell check, very poor word processing capabilities - most people wrote in Word) - and had a time out feature which meant you could lose everything if you hadn’t saved.

They have thought through the performance management process very well.

If you had asked me before the summer, I would have rated them 10/10 for up time. I am not sure if it was due to the SAP acquisition or not, but we had quite a few significant issues over the summer. Their servers have been bombarded. I know they are setting up new data centers, so some of these issues are supposed to go away. We have had more downtime than I think is acceptable, especially based on past performance.

We had some slow downs in last 6 months because of the server issues. They were experiencing load balancing issues. In previous years we have not had problems. We do batch our appraisals into one time at the end of our fiscal year which is June.

I would rate the support for Employee Central much higher - 9/10. It is a new product and they want people to be successful. For other modules, tech support is abysmal. They made some changes over the summer and last fall and it was really challenging. Their people did not understand the product and they would take an eternity to get back to you. They would make changes that effected other areas of product and they were not aware of it

In reference to the implementation of Employee Central, the consultants were less familiar with certain aspects of product as it's new. I would have liked them to have better handle on all aspects of product as there were some things we had to go back and change. They were however helpful and open to discussion all the time. They were very accessible to us.

Alternatives Considered

We chose AITalent LMS over Absorb's product due to cost constraints. The same could be said of Litmos and Saba. Whereas they might be larger and more established, AITalent LMS did what we needed for a price which we could afford. We would have preferred to have the support that the others offered.

As mentioned before, I didn't have input into the selection process. However, I found that SuccessFactors is easier to use than other products such as Brass Ring. Brass Ring is not user friendly and requires a lot of training. Applicants told me that they have problems applying to the Brass Ring application I have fewer complaints with SuccessFactors. However, some people have problems uploading their resumes or do not complete the application

  • It has allowed us to quickly and easily develop an entire curriculum for our employees.
  • To fully take advantage of the value of this tool, we had to dedicate several specialists to dig into the features to learn how to best use them.
  • The ease of which we can edit existing units allows us to use that time in other aspects of our work.

  • Enabled my company to track performance vs merit pay to determine the correlation between the two.
  • Great reporting features from both the canned and customizable reports to determine statistics on goals, forms, etc. This can be as high level or granular as you want.
