Allscripts Professional EHR

Some of the key questions include functionality of the EHR in today's electronic marketplace. Also customer support ratings are important due to many ongoing difficulties previously experienced with older EHRs. Allscripts is well suited to the outpatient setting where many preformed templates provide a comprehensive overview of patients. Additionally, Allscripts' link with the imaging portal PACS is second to none.

It a great tool for the agency because it is easy to use (scheduling) and not too "techie" for individuals who are not very computer or browser savvy. For large scale, or complicated sales efforts it could use more features for tracking potential clients. If you are entering a lot of detailed and/or complicated narrative for care plans or potential client tracking, the interface is very basic and can be hard to work with. You are only given a small window where you're entering information.

  • Cannot order supplies like breast pumps, abdominal binders etc
  • Printing ultrasound reports is difficult
  • Cannot open more than 1 prenatal record or you lose data

  • The front page could be organized a little differently, I believe all of the tasks from the CareGivers are a bit overwhelming for a new employee. Possibly switch it to only 'missed' and 'late' clock ins.
  • The calendar set up throws me off from time to time. A normal calendar day starts on a Sunday verses Saturday.
  • Background and color setting changes would be huge for anyone with a creative mind.

I have used ClearCare for about a year now and have only experienced positive outcomes with the system. It has everything you need from simple note reminders to detailed medial information regarding your client. If anyone in the health field takes the time to view this software, they would be hooked.

It was already in use when I was hired. I have mostly figured it out just messing around with it in my earlier spare time.
