AlphaSense
Alphasense is a game changer when it comes to Investor Relations. It's is also a very valuable tool for corporate development (M&A) and accounting (around researching footnotes and comparable company disclosure). In terms of IR, Alphasense has really become a one-stop shop for my team, mostly displacing Blomberg and FactSet. We have reduced seats on both of the former as a result of Alphasense's continued growth and improvement

Oracle
As a small company, there is a bit critical to choose Daas as the plans are high and support is available but not at that much priority. A company that wants to invest in the future can go with that. As every software has it's own pros and cons using the Oracle Daas we can build the best future sales planning and DB integration with our consumers to support worldwide level code.

Pros
AlphaSense
  • Clinical Trials updating FAST -- and coding the most important changes in the header (New trial, primary completion date changes, etc.)
  • They are providing access to meeting presentations faster than they go up on the meeting or corporate websites. Plus it acts as an archive -- if the company is absorbed by another company, the old document is still there.
  • Although I do not have to "crunch numbers," the selection of analyst reports with strong pharma science analysts helps me to put company press releases and presentations into a proper perspective.

Cons
AlphaSense
  • Repeat/duplicate alerts (same alert via different searches) - I would like to see them combined.
  • Clinical trial alerts - more clarity on what the specific changes are (currently I have to go into the record change history to see what was changed).

  • Prices and plans are higher not for mid level companies.
  • Not supported to all programming languages.
  • Need to go with more detail in user interface.
  • Provide more support to customers.

Likelihood to Renew
AlphaSense
After using Alpha Sense for over 1-year, I feel that if I didn't have the opportunity to renew, productivity would suffer. I would have to seek out the information I know I can expect from Alpha Sense in some other way, which might take significantly longer, or it might be behind paywalls I do not have access to. Being able to count on Alpha Sense is something that makes an impact on my day-to-day work, so renewal is a no-brainer

Usability
AlphaSense
As mentioned in other sections, AlphaSense is the best at searches and its integrated UI across all different content sources is excellent. It has easy-to-use filtering toggles at the top of the page that are highly intuitive. It is my go-to provider for my needs in content search and I find it is the best, allowing me to isolate the insights I'm looking for amidst all the noise in the marketplace. Its ability to integrate with other content (Evernote, broker research, etc.) leans into the strengths of the platform.

Online Training
AlphaSense
Trainers address the basics, and such training was meant for new users. Instructions are really helpful by providing scenarios that our team will face in our daily tasks. It will be more thoughtful if the training is conducted by case studies so as to allow new users to get first-hand experience during the training.

Alternatives Considered
AlphaSense
AlphaSense gives me market intelligence far better than the other tools. As a strategist, I need analyst reports, press releases, earnings transcripts, transcripts from corporate events (non-earnings), and materials shared in those events. AlphaSense is perfect for market, customer, and competitor insights. The other products (Cap IQ and Refinitive) are far better suited for speeding up large-scale financial analytics with Excel integration. While they have some transcripts and analyst reports, it's clear that the market intel component of those products is a secondary function behind the financial data compilation. If you need financial analytics, those tools are great. If you need market intel, AlphaSense is far better.

Return on Investment
AlphaSense
  • Replaced weeks of work with hours on AlphaSense -- genuinely, two hours later, we had an answer.
  • Shifted roles, lost headcount -- but maintained CI/MI content/insight quality via AlphaSense {automated insights, proactive delivery via an army of 1}.
  • Access to content that costs hundreds of thousands via other platforms -- targeted via AI, at a fraction of the cost via AlphaSense, in both time and money while delivering an exponential amount of value.
