Amazon Chime is a superior alternative to other free video conference/conference call programs. The call and video quality are great, and you can have multiple participants on both video and call. It's well suited for an organization that wants an affordable option for video and conference calls, but may not be appropriate for organizations with limited budgets or those who do very little conferencing.

Cisco Webex Calling

Cisco Webex Calling works great for remote workers as the phone system lives in the cloud so is easily accessible to anyone with an internet connection without the need to create a VPN back into the corporate network. The PSTN access is via the corporate network which means it can still connect to other phone systems in the office as required.

  • Mobile use - Calling is extremely easy to use via mobile, making it easier for teams to work remotely and thus offer the organization and colleagues all of the benefits that come with this
  • Security - As this is a cloud-based solution, updates are easily implemented meaning better security, which is essential for the company overall.

  • I would like to see a feature to allow people to pre-register for web-conferencing. There has been at least one incident in which no one showed up to a webinar. I don't know if no one intended to join, if something was wrong with the invitation, or if there was user error on the organizer's end.

  • Sometimes confusing on how to sign on to the Webex
  • Takes 5-10 minutes to download so if you forget to download before the call they will have to wait and is awkward
  • Don’t see a difference between this and zoom calls

It is a very easy product to deploy and configure and to really take advantage of. It does not matter if you are using it in an office or your home, or for a security office or a collaboration meeting room - you have the right endpoint available for each case and the configuration parameters to improve the functionality you need.

They were very supportive in answering all of our questions when we had problems. Their in-person calls but their support site also had a full set of information that can answer a good portion of your questions before you have to pick up the phone. But when you, you will get good service.

I have been working for a long time with Cisco as a provider and also Cisco TAC and Cisco Support Engineers.
The support starts right beforehand in the documentation of the product you are interested in. From the start you have a good, complete, and detailed and easy to read datasheet and there's always someone available to answer any questions.

Amazon Chime

Amazon's Chime is lightweight and has easy integrations with Slack. Cloud Trail has good call reports, doesn't take time to load compared to other products that I have tried. Its APIs exposed by Amazon are really helpful to customize. The shift from one user to another for screen sharing, remote control work with no hindrances.

Cisco Webex Calling

Zoom is great and very cheap for what you can do with but it crashes too often. Too many people are using it now, it is a popular product and it affects the quality of the product. We really like the quality of the Cisco Webex products in general. The company gained customer satisfaction over the years with their products but now I would reconsider the price of the license and subscription.

  • Anytime that my teams do not have to have that frustrating first 5 minutes of a call asked if everyone can hear and are you on, makes life so much better and starts the meeting off on a positive note.
  • Knowing that Chime is very reliable, domestic and international, gives me some peace of mind that my teams and I are in good hands. Communication is vital for our business and I feel confident in Chime.
  • I would like our company as a whole using the same vendor for online conferences. We constantly try to streamline our vendor list, but I do understand the interface criticism. Amazon has never been known for its design aesthetic and user experience.

  • I would consider the heafty investment to be worth it as it has helped bring an element of cohesion between departments in the same division.
  • It has also shown to have positive reviews from our high-level executives when audio conferencing into high profile meetings. It is always important, in my opinion, to invest in technology that is going to keep your data and conversations safe.
