Amazon Chime is well suited for any online meeting or presentation, as it's easy to use and works well with great video/audio. It may be less appropriate if you are talking to a prospect that has strong feelings against Amazon, or one that is more wary of technology.

Pros

  • One of the few things that Amazon Chime does well is scheduling calls with Gmail. It's pretty easy to do.
  • Another thing Amazon Chime does will is basic functions like muting and unmuting the mic and screensharing.

  • It's easy to use. I have users in our electronic security department that struggle with TeamViewer, LogMeIn, Dameware, and other remote access solutions, but can use ConnectWise Control without issue.
  • It does the job of multiple softwares (ad-hoc support, managed remote access, and web meetings) for the price of one. This reduces our total spend and reduces the number of systems we have to keep up with.
  • It's fast. Compared to LogMeIn and TeamViewer, it's much faster overall and much more usable on low quality connections.

Cons

  • Amazon Chime can be invasive as it pops up on your computer one minute or so before your meeting time.
  • Screen sharing - this isn't a real con as the screen sharing is great, it's at times just really small and hard to view when there are a handful of people on the call.
  • Log in - this can sometimes be a challenge but [it's] not too bad.

While the desktop client is great. The mobile client is lacking. Controlling it is difficult compared to Microsoft Remote Desktop.

The past 45 days, only had one outage that lasted about 15 minutes. NOT TOO SHABBY! There have been some unexpected reboots and moves but not a show stopper in any way.

It performs well. It also has full control over windows security and does not get hung up like GoToMeeting when trying to install remote software at the prompt to install as admin / override. I have used TeamViewer, WebEx, LogMeIn and GoToMeeting. This is by far the best at spontaneous, remote control. It is also very easy to get a novice user connected to the session.

Great product, use it daily with a second support staff. Would love to see this expanded with other systems such as Slack or other collaboration software where a user can easily share their screen, do a conference or access another users screen quickly and easily. This isn't the most friendly for "non-techy" people when comparing to Slack's ScreenShare solution but it works very well with our use case scenarios

I find ScreenConnect to be very simple and effective overall, with the main problem being that a number of my clients can't download the app due to existing firewalls and so on. Otherwise it does its job well, and I'm happy with it.

ConnectWise has done everything they could to help us in any situation. Great support team and their new updates are always providing features that we need. Its a simple solution that works the way we need it to. Their legacy pricing model is still much better than their subscription based model however it is still fair pricing

Alternatives Considered

Chime and Biba are interchangeable to me, both accomplish the same task. We have transitioned to Chime as it was created by Amazon and we support Amazon, so it was an easy decision for us. I do enjoy Chime more as it just seems to work effortlessly. I would recommend it to all.

ConnectWise Control is almost as good for remote control. The other product increased its price to an unacceptable level. After testing ConnectWise Control, it was found to be a great replacement at a perfect price point.

As far as I can see there are no real barriers to scaling up - as and when we need more subscriptions, we can add them in with no negative impact to the existing way that we're using the tool

Return on Investment

  • Amazon Chime has been an incredibly cost effective way to add video and conference line services (with screen sharing) to our day to day operations because we have an account for free for being Vonage customers.
  • A pro account only costs $15 a month, and you only need one pro account for a small office. If others in your organization need to join, all you need is a basic account to join. You need a pro account in order to launch and administer meetings.

  • Excellent for remote control and file transfer. Very reliable.
  • The meeting feature is a great tool included in a perfectly priced package. I love the all inclusive
  • package without nickel and diming.
