Amplitude Analytics vs Decibel Insight

I really recommend it for small business or startup as it contains many functions and collects a lot of data that helps to boost a product of your company since you can look for strengths and repower them, as well as improve the weak points of your product. It's very easy to use and integrate if you don't have a lot of knowledge in the area, so it won't be much of a problem to keep up with your product developments.

It doesn't replace traditional analytics tools like Google Analytics, but works best alongside them. Google Analytics is ideal for number crunching and stats, but it can't tell you why the stats are they way they are. DI helps answer those questions, it does things that Google can't do - showing information about clicks or scrolling on a specific page, and showing how much each page element contributes to your bottom line. The user playback tool is very very useful. In combination with the interaction maps, it's a great way to highlight key site issues quickly, and develop strategies of dealing with them.

Pros

Charts - I love the charting elements from Amplitude because they are simple and intuitive.
Ease of use - It has the ability to run complex SQL queries but more importantly the average marketer can use it and get the information they need without needing to have any technical work done.
Cohorts - These make segmenting data easy and this is key in the analysis.

Easy and intuitive. The interface isn't overly complex.
Information is presented clearly.
Easy to find the information I'm looking for. Again, this is due to the simplicity.
The user playback tool is very powerful. It's like a video recording of where the client goes throughout the site.

Cons

Training my team on Amplitude is a little complicated, so I would say it isn't the most intuitive software. Certain actions require hovering over buttons in order for the options to appear which can cause confusion when initially learning how to navigate Amplitude.

Being able to create groups of segments would be useful.
The interface for selecting page types needs more options, it can be difficult to use if you have lots of similar pages.
Would be good if top level stats were presented in different ways, or in a more visual way (ie pie charts, graphs).
Generating reports - it would be nice if I could export charts and graphs instead of just CSV files.

It provides a super useful analytics platform. You don't even have to have coding skills to use it and almost no training is required. Features and analysis are very intuitive. Speed could be faster. I didn't experience any downtime while using it. It smoothly integrates into the normal workflow of a developer and provides a hassle-free platform to managers.

Alternatives Considered

A lot of data can be tracked via manual tracking or linking to an excel sheet, but with such a huge amount of data, it is far easier to have all of it laid out in an easy to read format. The charts and graphs are easy to use and are really pretty user-friendly. The hardest part is in simply finding the event that you want to use.

Doesn't replace Google Analytics, but serves as a complement to them. Does things that Google cannot do. Other products are quite narrow in scope - they only do one kind of heatmap, or only track visitors. DI is more fully featured as a suite of tools.

It collects data of great importance which allows to make product improvements.
It easily identifies problems a user may have with the product.
The flow of users who have used the product has improved, thus being able to generate more income thanks to the improvements and new functions.
