Klipfolio

Klipfolio would work best in an open communication team where showing performance for each team is key. Dashboards would help everyone in the team/organization to identify how their actions and being transferred to positive effects on KPIs. By removing the knowledge barriers between different source systems such as Google Analytics, Survey Monkey, Google Ads or SQL databases, any user can view performance in a common visual interface provided by Klipfolio.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Focus on analyzing and not on finding and loading data
  • "One version of the truth"
Christophe Wins profile photo
  • Klipfolio can source the data used from Dropbox to easily incorporate offline data such as targets in Excel files or call center data exported in CSV files.
  • The UI is easy to use while still being very powerful. If you know Excel formulas, you will quickly find your way in Klipfolio.
  • Dashboards created in Klipfolio are automatically resized based on the device used. Even on mobile phones with 5-inch screens, VP can remotely access their business KPIs and have near real-time data.
  • Klipfolio support in excellent. They offer live chat and a very rich QA section. When you first register, you can participate in online training to get you started as quickly as possible.
  • Klipfolio licencing is very affordable.

Cons

  • I would like to have more modules. Eg. : supply chain tool.
Christophe Wins profile photo
  • It may seem like a small issue, but to get to your monthly invoice it is pretty buried in sub pages and can be confusing for some to find.
  • When you login for the first time it does take a little bit for all of your widgets to populate its data.
  • When you scroll through a dashboard, the header of the site is very jumpy and a little bit distracting.

Because I'm very satisfied with it. i think that it is as easy at you would need, and you can create reports as complex as you could need.

Alternatives Considered

Cognos is very expensive and needs heavy IT-team to implement it.

I have not personally tried any other products like Klipfolio, but based on my personal experience Klipfolio has a strong foundation for their platform and I feel its only going to get better over time as they grow. I would encourage people to give a few platforms a try and I am sure Klipfolio will stand on its own.

Honestly, its super easy to set your team up with Klipfolio. There is a users section that has everything you need to add users, build groups and select what roles those user will have from admin, editor and view-only. Once you have that setup each person can log into the platform like usual from the website

Analyza is able to connect to all kind of data sources and to do joins.

Getting most of your data sources is pretty easy to implement, for example for your Google data, you just need to log into your account and allow the data to be shared. For some of the sources you will need a secret key or api key and can be a little confusing if you have not done that before, but their support team is good and can assist you. They also provide instructions on how to setup each source if you need instructions

The On-Premise or SaaS solutions are the same price; we provide a dedicated machine or virtual machine for both. For 10 users, the budget is from $15,000 to $90,000 for a full Business Intelligence solution (including licenses and maintenance for 3 years). The installation and configuration cost depends on customer's data architecture, volume and number of sources. It also depends on customizations required (i.e.: exporting pixel to pixel PDF files to a SharePoint platform).
