More suitable for complex integration scenarios as it supports Java code too. Need to have an experienced Mulesoft developer available with some Java background.

Arm Treasure Data

Treasure Data is well suited for pulling in multiple data sets, to help define and understand your audience, business, predictive scoring and having a central platform for doing data analysis and data science. What it's not well suited for, however, is heavy charting and data visualization. We've had limitations using Treasure Reporting.

Pros

  • API Spec (RAML) Driven Development and Collaboration Ecosystem (Echange & Portal)
  • API Policy Management
  • Anypoint MQ and Object Store
  • Exchange Vault
  • Analytics and visualization

  • It is reliable- uptime is 99.99%
  • Job processing is easy
  • The new workflow tool is outstanding. It allows various data processing options with extensive metadata surrounding the success of the workflow. 100% dynamic including options for parallel processing jobs. One of the best features in my option. And with digdag
  • Easy integration

Cons

  • Native Open API Specification and not via RAML.
  • Flow Designer appears primitive and can be built to be more intuitive and user-friendly. Dependency on Anypoint studio can be reduced for low code oriented tasks.
  • Lack of flexiblity to package multiple projects in the same app saving on vcores.
  • Mule 4 is out and is a breaking changes for 3.x apps. In view this, mesaging around what to avoid to have minimum migration impact is not clear.

  • Today, Treasure Data does require some technical expertise, especially as it relates to new features. I appreciate that the approach allows a quick time to value but does require coding expertise.
  • I would love if Treasure Data had the ability to connect workflows with Github easily via the GUI.
  • Additionally, I would love better search functionality to easily mine past jobs rather than paging through them via the console.

Support has always been very responsive and digs in to help solve any problems. They have a great approach with both beginner users of the product as well as with more experienced users with more in depth questions or challenges.

Alternatives Considered

API led architecture focus with a decent API ecosystem for developer collaboration, policy management and declarative implementation. Batch processing, visualization, Anypoint MQ and ObjectStore leave a lot to be explored. Multiple deployment models make it worth considering.

Arm Treasure Data stacks up very well against its competitors. It is a highly scalable tool with great support. The reason we went ahead with Arm Treasure Data is that it has good customizations and AI capabilities. With machine learning and AI becoming more and more important every day, it is important to have this feature. It has some advanced features, but obviously all tools have their own pros and cons. This tool had features that suited our business and our requirements. Although there are arguably other features that are available in other software, this suited our business.

Return on Investment

  • Overall a good tool when comparing pricing and features provided together
Ankit Goyal profile photo
  • It definitely has positive results in the ROI since we are using the tool very effectively. We have been able to focus and market to specific customers with different offers.
  • It has helped with making more sense out of data and hence is very effective. Machine learning/AI is not fully up to the mark, but does make a difference.
  • We have been able to save money with marketing and arranging online campaigns and newsletters to customers. Instead of mass marketing, we are able to support it logically.
