AppFollow
AppFollow is well suited if you only operate in a few app store countries and don't have a high volume of keywords that you are looking to rank for. This is, of course, the free plan. Besides that AppFollow is well suited for communication with other apps - they have an open API and other connections to a ton of third-party analytical tools.

I particularly enjoy using the various applications, Connect, Research, Questions, and Compete, to quickly run a published article and see where improvements are needed. The Compete application is very valuable in finding the highest authority articles on a particular topic. I then use these to discover if there is an aspect of the topic that I have missed or should provide a more in-depth discussion on.

Cons
AppFollow
- Even with the paid plans, you don't get many keywords. We were on the Essential plan for a few months but began to realize that we weren't getting that many keywords, only 3x more than the free plan. We decided to look into higher volume keyword tools because of this restriction.
- I'm not sure if this is a feature or not, but it would be extremely helpful to be notified if one of our apps becomes featured in the app store. Essentially an alert to let us know to expect a ton of volume or a heads up not to send out a new build.

- Being nit picky, but I would love to have the AI use British English :P
- The Connect application very rarely provides internal link suggestions that are actually relevant.

The support I have received from all MarketMuse staff at each step of the process has been excellent. They are very friendly, quick to assist, and also provide really good training to teach you how to use their product. Additionally, their own blog is a wealth of information regarding different aspects of content marketing, from articles to video interviews.

Alternatives Considered
AppFollow
While App Annie is extremely robust and pulls in data from acquisition channels, app stores, and elsewhere, it can be quite overwhelming at times. If you are looking for more simple and just keyword positioning then definitely look at AppFollow. Apart from the two platforms themselves, I've had numerous contact experiences with both AppFollow and App Annie. The winner is definitely AppFollow with a less aggressive approach and a higher willingness to go above and beyond to make sure all questions are answered. With App Annie I was bombarded with a ton of sleazy, sales emails to purchase their product.

- When you receive a Brief, MarketMuse states the expected increase in site visitors. However, I have no tangible figures to compare this to at this stage to access how accurate this prediction is.
