ApplicantPro

ApplicantPro is well suited in a environment where an employer isn't hiring a ton of people - this is because ApplicantPro is built with some automation, but you do have to pay attention to each individual candidate.ApplicantPro would be less well suited for a company looking to hire a lot of people or a company where they want to post a ton of different jobs

Breezy HR

We would hire tons of bad employees, people who simply didn't fit in the school, and would be stuck wondering why it kept happening. We kept sourcing from the same places Breezy did, so we couldn't figure out what was going wrong. When we got Breezy, we figured out that it was our messaging. Breezy gave us the ability to frame our message and not have to worry about how it would be implemented across multiple sites. We now have a unified message, and are able to put the questionnaires in to place, securing more relevant hires. Not all of them are perfect, but a lot more are sticking around, and are very capable individuals.

Pros

ApplicantPro

  • Allows us to involve a hiring manager or hiring committee in the selection and review process via their own logins. Easy to manage access to only the right job postings.
  • Custom (knock out) questions for each job posting. This is nice because we can get very specific as to what information we want out of an applicant. This helps in narrowing down to the final candidates.
  • Ability for teams to each rate a candidate (via 5 stars). It then takes an average which helps in selecting candidates for interviews.

Breezy HR

  • Excellent pipeline management for candidates.
  • The user interface is fantastic. Easy to use and it looks really nice.
  • Pricing is excellent for the features it offers.
  • Tons of ways to automate your hiring (emails, notes etc)

Cons

ApplicantPro

  • ApplicantPro could improve process change implementation. If you change one part of a process, it often times changes the whole thing.
  • Within the offer letter (eForm) feature, you have to restart an offer letter entirely even if you just need to edit one item - this is time consuming.
  • Sometimes the layout can be difficult to navigate/find what you're looking for - specifically on an applicant's home page.

Breezy HR

  • It might be expensive if you are a small business or a startup.
  • Email functionality could use more options.
  • Analytics arent as good as the ATS we used prior to this.

It's no fuss and does what we need at a very reasonable price, so I can't imagine why I'd switch.

Breezy is a very intuitive, easy-to-use piece of software. Everything's drag-and-drop interactive, the various actions and data elements are cross-linked through the application intelligently, and I didn't need to look at any documentation whatsoever to get it up and going with live listings on our site (and syndicated to Indeed, etc) within just an hour or two.

It was really easy to get up and running, and the few questions I did have were answered nearly immediately via the in-app chat.

Alternatives Considered

ApplicantPro

These two systems are similar in that they track applicants, can store offers, automate email responses and allow easy job posting. I think that PeopleSoft is a little more advanced and has more overall options/safeguards, where as ApplicantPro is still in a learning phase both within themselves and for us as a company

My team really liked the trial version of Breezy HR we used. We all felt that it was more suited towards the kind of hiring we do.

Return on Investment

ApplicantPro

  • There have been a few times where we have been able to catch duplicate applicants or applicants that come through different sources applying to the same job.
  • We are able to keep track of all of our offer letters in one area.
  • The automation features are useful for our company.

Breezy HR

  • Improved internal communication.
  • Reduced the time it took us to move candidates through our hiring.
