If you are an experienced payroll and benefits administrator that doesn't need a lot of technical support, the Paylocity system is great and certainly gets the job done. Payroll and tax support at Paylocity is lackluster and inconsistent, so if you are an organization needing a strong external partner in terms of payroll support, Paylocity may not be your best bet

Read full review Our payroll consists of many batches. There is a lot of moving back and forth once you enter too many batches as there is not enough room to view everything on the screen. It would be extremely helpful if the batch "bar" were wrapped to a second line so all can be viewed on the screen. Third-party sick pay must be entered by January 3rd or thereabout. This does not allow enough time for the last statement of the year to be received from the taxing authorities and entered into the system. Amended returns and W2s are then required and incur a charge. Read full review Likelihood to Renew
We gave an 8 rating because I believe there are simple improvements Paylocity could make that would make a world of difference in an admins every day work world. We will probably renew because we are already familiar with Paylocity and how it works. It would a huge change to bring in a different HR & Payroll system at this point

Paylocity is intuitive for the most part. There are a few areas that I click on more than once and it isn't the place I need to be, but I can usually find what I need quickly. The search feature is excellent. And, step by step instructions and videos make learning a breeze!

ApplicantStack support is outstanding. Any issue that I have ever encountered is handled within a day by their support team. There are very rarely issues that come up, and they typically stem from a user error, but the ApplicantStack team is always ready to help and solve the issues that arise.

The frustrations I have with Paylocity customer support are what drove me to leave a review in the first place so I can warn anyone considering purchasing this product. I really like the software and it has a lot of great features, but my complete distrust of their customer service has led me to rue the day I chose Paylocity to be our payroll vendor. For one thing, they are often slow to respond. That alone might be manageable, except even when I do get a response, half the time the answers are incomplete/not helpful, if not completely incorrect! Imagine waiting 90 days and paying thousands of dollars for a corrected W2 only for it to come back more incorrect than it was when you started, and not only that but they also made me question my sanity trying to convince me that they were correct when it was BLATANTLY wrong - and that's just one example! Sometimes you might be lucky to get a decent customer service rep using the chat help feature, but most of the time whoever you talk to does not seem to have any more knowledge of the system than you do. I am a patient person and I have a lot of grace for administrative errors (we're all human) but Paylocity customer service is consistently unreliable and sometimes unprofessional to boot. To their credit, the sales and implementation teams do seem really good. It seems like maybe they just can't retain good customer service reps. We've been through several account managers without ever having a good experience.

I would make sure you have a dedicated team at Paylocity to complete the implementation. We had staff from Paylocity quit and things were not completed properly. They dropped the ball so to speak on that portion of it. we have encountered multiple issues since then and are still not using the Time off tracking to its full capabilities.

Applicantstack offered a high level of customization for us, at a price point their competitors couldn't touch. While it's got some room for improvement in reporting, we've been able to fill every gap with custom programming at an incredibly reasonable rate.

Those are the companies I've used in the past. I wasn't working at CNOB when Paylocity was chosen. But Paylocity is 1000 times superior to the two programs I used in the past! There are no secret codes for deductions or earnings; payroll registers are easy to read, and it's very, very user-friendly. And again, when you're stuck, customer service is always available right away with the solution.
