(UPDATE: Please note that my review was for the Version 5 of their apps. They have recently updated 2 of their main apps to V6 which show a lot of improvements. The sad thing however is that many of their 40+ apps never even made to V5 let alone V6. V5 to V6 has taken over a year and only the core apps are getting attention.)

As it stands Apptivo is only useful for one person or sole trader type entities. If your business wants to use all the apps and works internationally then Apptivo will create headaches and frustration rather than increasing productivity. They may solve many of the 100+ items we provided them with free of charge in an upcoming release, but we left with a bad taste in our mouth. Countless hours lost in our business while we acted as bug finders for Apptivo while paying for the product.

Bitrix24 is well suited for any organization that needs a project management tool that can grow with them. I cannot stress this enough! This software works for startups and large organizations! That's important considering the learning curve, and the amount of time that it takes to set up a company-wide software. The software is set up to support all internal teams, as well as have folders/tasks specifically for dedicated teams (ie- executives, marketing, etc). The approvals process also helps managers to track each step of the way.Bitrix24 may not be well suited for an organization that is looking for a quick-to-use, temporary project management solution. Its layout is very detailed and requires a commitment to not only learn how to use but to manage. This may not be great for someone who is looking solely for a task manager.

  • Huge opportunities for customization, integration with other services. Easy search for solutions to setup questions.
  • The ability to write letters directly from the system with the help of a binding for working mail.
  • The presence of an application for Android. This helps to get access anywhere.

Cons

Apptivo

  • Homescreen claims to be the center of the application however the sub sections are mostly flawed or do not function as one would expect.
  • The built in email client kinda works but depending on which section of the app you are in the default font will be different from your signature. Also you cannot add a cell phone to staff signatures. I asked about this for months. It was never fixed. When will CRM companies learn that email is STILL the center of many business. It is unacceptable to have different fonts in the same mail and signatures that change from client to client.
  • They frequently messed up our contact data.
  • Multi currency exists on invoices but not on other apps.
  • Fragmentation with their apps....some apps are still on version 3 some on 4 and some on version 5. This means you are forced to deal with 2 or more different user interfaces within the same app.
  • No consistency between the apps.
  • Often there is little or no integration between the apps inside Apptivo.

  • Confusing interface takes time to sort out
  • For the sales department, the system is badly sharpened - managers do not need to enter information in 2-3 clicks

Our uses kept running into bugs that stopped them from doing simple things like creating a contact or selecting an item from a custom drop list which is required to save the contact or item. This of course is after time was spent filling out all the previous data which gets lost when you cannot complete the form. This is just one example of many.

Alternatives Considered

Apptivo

The price was right for what we needed to use Apptivo for (the CRM and the contact management/project management models). And, we needed something basic and easy to implement so we could get up and running with little down time. The other systems we evaluated didn't seem to have the exact pricing and features/functionality we were looking for so we made the determination that Apptivo would be the best fit.

Bitrix stacks up beautifully and goes beyond others in certain features. Just like any other software it has its own pros and cons but overall is an excellent software to work on if it can satisfy majority of your needs. Overall it can do very well with just a few minor improvements and more exposure in the corporate world.

  • Positive impact: very easy and fast deployment on cloud version. Very low investment to set up and start to use. Chance to test the product before start paying to use it.
  • Positive impact: ease of use and intuitive system (no need to train users to perform basic tasks). People started to obtain benefits very quickly.
  • Positive impact: free version up to 12 users/low price for additional users and/or other paid packages.
