They are more suited to growing, nimble companies. They are soon adding employee approval to time cards and checkin by facial recognition. Additions and changes to improve functionality might not work for a very large company like GE.

Namely might be too expensive and unnecessary for new or very small companies. Companies that are looking to grow quickly, however, will get great use from Namely. It helps keep everything organized and in one place. The Namely team really helps users to keep up with ever-changing federal and state compliance laws. They will handle a lot of payroll challenges and assist with taxes as well.

  • CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are so helpful and you get a really quick response. You don't ever sit on hold for hours on end and you get the RIGHT answer or resolution to your problem. We previously had ADP which was a nightmare so APS Online customer service has made our bi-weekly payroll runs a breeze.
  • Customizable - we were able to make any adjustments as needed to our different departments, types of rates, types of vacation accruals etc. With the great customer service we can explain exactly what needs to change and they take care of it right away.
  • Transition from your old provider - APS Online worked with us and pulled in all of our old information. It made our workload a lot easier. They even helped pull reports for us to use from our old system which has helped us complete various workers comp audits.
  • Reporting - through APS Online you can create SO many custom reports. Its easy to use and very intuitive.

  • Namely is quick to listen to client feedback and solve problems. They're constantly adding new features, so even if it doesn't have everything you want now, there is a good chance it will.
  • Namely's platform is very user-friendly. It's easy to navigate and learn how to use. For many users, it's self-explanatory. They provide great training tools as well.
  • Namely Payroll is easy to use and provides a large variety of reports that you can access immediately. It's easy to update employee and company tax information.

Overall, Namely is a very user friendly platform, most of the functionality can be learned with out much training or guidance. They have designed it to be modeled similar to other social media sites interface which makes it clean in design and easy to navigate. If you do have someone at your organization that is less tech savvy, one of the most impressive parts of Namely continues to be their client support. They will support you and give guidance in every aspect if its training or just pointing out a feature and how it works

There is one primary account representative that we contact on a regular basis. If she is unavailable, there are others on her team. It does seem that our implementation was more complex than others that have been installed, so fixes are not as easily remedied.

It would have been helpful to understand the phases of the implementation up front so I could have prepared differently for enrollments, billing, and transfer of information to payroll. At the end of the day, I'm happy with the selection and the system and anticipate I will like it better as we go along. We have done a number of other system implementations in the past few years, and this has been pretty painless, however, I've had a few surprises.

Namely is much more user-friendly and even employee friendly as the interface is so easy to navigate and clear to change and use daily. I would definitely recommend to other companies looking for a fully combined software for all functions.

  • Very cost effective way for us to process payroll.

  • Compared to our last HRIS, Namely gains far more users internally because of the user interface.
  • We continue to review external review software that provide micro feedback, employee-generated reviews, and compilation of review data in a readable and presentable format while we use Namely's. Namely's performance review is useful, it just doesn't meet all our needs today.
  • The reimbursement portion of Namely's payroll is valuable to us, so we don't have to cut separate expense checks. We pay bi-weekly and the payroll requires about 30 minutes of work every two weeks for our 75 employees to verify PTO and salary updates, as those don't feed from Namely HR. Not bad, but it seems like it should be higher on the priority list of future releases.
  • The initial implementation of Namely was really easy, compared to the four other implementations I've been through. The support team was available whenever we needed to ensure accuracy.
