The Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliances are hardware developed for data backup and management. They cover enterprise backup, ransomware detection, recovery assurance, proactive monitoring, and cloud continuity into a single platform for organizations of all sizes.
Both have similar feature sets. Unitrends seems to have a set number of configuration options for each environment and lays those templates down, whereas Arcserve Backup is more hands off with the initial backup configuration and do not have a basic SQL Template, for example. …
We selected Unitrends over the competitors due to a culmination of factors in the aggregate we determined was important. The balance of pricing, features, options, support and reviews from peers all worked to help us decide to go with Unitrends. In the end of our search we …
I think the biggest thing is stability and recovering from failed incremental backups. Unitrends Data Center Backup and Recovery's process is simple and does not require modifying the original job except adding a custom field in the job calendar. A simple drag and drop and …
Most companies have been using tape backups for along time and Unitrends allows to completely move away from tapes.

Unitrends is the market leader for a reason, you can tell they put a lot of thought and R&D into designing the software and making it work the way you want it to. I no longer have to guess whether or not a restore will work or what incremental the file I am looking for is on.

Looked at products like Rubrik which seemed to do more than we needed and also came at a significant cost. Also looked at more similar alternatives such as Arcserve, but felt that Unitrends solution was better suited to our needs especially with their recovery appliance.
We did our homework and boy are we happy. We looked at Backup Exec, Veeam, Arcserve, and AppAssure.
Veeam was probably the top competitor and when I looked at it while visiting another institution it looked and sounded very stable. The techs who worked with it swore by it, but …
The Unitrends appliance let us move to a single backup system that is reliable and pain free. It has an easy to use interface and quality hardware. They stay on top of bugs and issues and let you easily apply updates to the system when needed.
One of the biggest challenges …
The competitors were both tape backup but were awkward to use and didn't always work. Unitrends is disk based and is very easy to use and reliable. I have confidence in it.
