Well suited: when there is an executed agreement with supportind documentation, even if the spend won't be monitored through Ariba, having the contract housed in ACW will allow for auditors to easily find all required documents.Less appropriate: if there is not a need for an executed agreement and a simple PO/SO can be used as a contract.

ConnectWise Sell

The most powerful features are the fact that you can see when your clients have viewed your quote, and that it can pull in real-time information about the products you are selling. It is all online-based, so you can use it from anywhere which is a big advantage over other quoting tools that I have used. We don't use the procurement capabilities, but for quoting pricing and customer visibility it works fantastically.

Cons

  • I don't like that they anticipate an annual revenue based on one quarter. Our business is cyclic in nature. This costs us more money in fees than necessary.
  • I never know exactly who to talk to. I've had to figure it out.
  • Set up was a mess. I had several employees that each tried and only one is necessary and when they leave, I have a problem.

  • ConnectWise Sell often becomes disconnected from the server. I have often had my other salespeople report that they were adding a product to a quote and it errored out on them saying the server could not be reached. They then have to close the quote completely and reopen it which interrupts their workflow.
  • ConnectWise Sell does not always connect very well with Autotask. ConnectWise Sell is admittedly owned by ConnectWise which is a competitor to Autotask. Nevertheless, Sell does not give the ability of making an item set as recurring in the quote transfer to Autotask as a recurring item. All items come up as one-time purchases which may not be true.

It's an 9. Not a 10. No software package is a 10. None!! If a software package was a ten then it wouldn't ever be updated. Quosal has its flaws like everything else but it's not bad at all.

Alternatives Considered

Ariba Contract Management is more user friendly than SAP. It does not have all the interative functionalities that Ariba has, such as the approval flows, etc. It is easier to train users to use Ariba Contract Management than it is to use SAP. Ariba is more affordable than the SAP licenses.

Both tools have a very common feature set. Sell is different primarily in the fact that it is online software-as-a-service based deployment, rather than a local server based deployment. That gives it a major leg up. I can use Sell from anywhere in the world easily.

Quosal was great at maintaining excessive document quantities, housing over a decade of quoting documents, both large and complicated or single line, low volume quotes. I could scale back and reference information archived with ease and speed.

  • Negative - Poor reporting forcing us to use SSRS to create our own custom reports.
  • Middle of the Road - It always seems like some of the issues that pop up are always super visible since they stick out.
