Asana
Overall, despite its drawbacks, Asana works really well for our team. I think this is an appropriate [tool] for a mid-sized digital marketing firm, like ourselves. A software development team is going to want something more robust, like JIRA. However, if you're just shopping for an easy-to-learn tool that will help you manage responsibilities without relying on email? Asana is perfect. Its flexibility also makes it a great fit for most work-flows in almost any industry. Asana is simple out-of-the-box, but it does have robust functionalities that will allow your team to ramp up if desired.

CoConstruct
This is not a sticks-and-bricks estimating system. If you are a paper contractor using all subs, it will work great. If you use a separate estimating system, you can use it for selections and budgets and change orders.

Pros
- Report of tasks added to tasks completed to see how productive the team has been with a particular project.
- Individual tasks so you can see how swamped/not others on the team are.
- Adding a project/task to multiple projects is awesome. We have a general ALL marketing projects in one project and then separate them out in another (email, social media, etc.).

Cons
- Better integration into daily life. They would love to be there but it's a conscious effort that is required to get started.
- Mobile app could use improvements. Archiving tasks don't seem to work, for example.
- Added complexity (workspaces, project lists, etc.) just make it a bit harder to get going.

- Lead reporting -- the data is there, but the report formats can be improved upon

Asana is great for how I end up using it. When a new project launches and I get busy, I can easily pick it up and begin using it again and as I get more time (or the project completes) I can drop it again. It seems to morph better than any other application to exactly what project I'm working on, what I need to track, etc. It simply fits into my life extremely well and I'll end up using it again every time I start a new project.

They don't fix everything, but they have certainly gone the extra mile for us. When we were frustrated with a recent change that altered our default view of every project, changing it from all projects being visible to just incomplete projects being visible, they wrote a custom script to change all of our default views back for us, so we didn't have to manually click 3,000 times (we have over a thousand projects).

Other users were not well aware of the alternatives and were good to have a better UI with Asana compared to the card like structure of Trello.

Their communcation system is unparallelled. I've checked into the others (UDA-- NEVER EVER BUY FROM THEM! Builder Trend-- their communication system isn't as good.)

Return on Investment
- I definitely feel more organized and more effective when I'm assigned a task via Asana. It makes it easier to keep track of than email. I also work off-location from the rest of the team.
