Aspect Workforce Management

I would say Aspect is less appropriate with smaller businesses or businesses with a smaller amount of clients. Aspect is really useful if you have a lot of customers and employees as you have to schedule the employee breaks and time off around the business needs. A lot of smaller businesses don't need that ability since they might not have the demanding customers like a lot of larger companies would have.

Administration and accounting for employees to input their hours. As long as an employee can have the training, then they can go in and input their hours. However, Kronos can be slow and it can be confusing without the training needed to input the hours. Otherwise, once you have the training it's very self-explanatory

  • Aspect does a great job of projecting call volume and the number of employees required for each shift of the day.
  • The level of detail provided in the reports was outstanding.
  • I really liked the ability to schedule breaks and lunch based on call volume.

  • Comprehensible meaning that it is not difficult to understand how the system works as long as you have someone explain it to you.
  • Easy to use in the sense that it's not hard to remember how to use it. It's easy to explore.

  • workforce app seems a little outdated and could be improved
  • more room for customization- not necessary but employees like to have a little creative outlet so it could be good to allow changes to the dashboard look
  • removing the requests from the inbox is a little time consuming- you have to delete each request manually one by one, there isn't a way to batch delete them

  • More training necessary to use it because you do need at least half an hour for someone to explain it to you.
  • Slow in the sense that it takes a long time for it to load.
  • Difficult to complete in the sense that there's a lot of things you have to double check in order for it to go through properly.

We have begun looking for other vendors to supply this products need as Kronos WFR cannot deliver the suite of applications which it should with this product.*6/5/17 Edit - We started the new year with a new application. WFR proved to be unable to correct the errors within the application. We are much happier with the new application as we can use it effectively.

Once the initial set up of the software is complete and/or you are familiar with the software, it is easy to use and runs like a dream. However, if you are unfamiliar with the software or have used a competitor's product, some features can seem difficult to learn or get used to.

While some tasks such as updating an employee's basic info, password, and approver preferences are very easy to do and straightforward (all combined on a single employee maintenance page and updateable through a single 'save'), other items prove to be more cumbersome such as navigating through multiple layers of employees when you are up higher in management with more system rights

We were always told that Kronos was the best, but there are reports that we got out of ADP and other payroll providers that we cannot get out of Kronos. One example is a report of Productive/Non-productive hours by department. We also need the dollar amount associated with the hours. This is information that is required on our cost report and we were told that that report is unavailable. It is very frustrating when I can't get what I need.

The Kronos support staff is great! They are all very knowledgeable, are thorough when explaining or showing me how to fix something and very friendly to speak with over the phone. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 was because there are times when I just want to pick up the phone and ask a quick question but I have to start a case instead. The online help has been very useful because a lot of times I can find the answer to my question on my own

Alternatives Considered

BambooHR is also easy to use and the user interface is friendly, but from my experience, it is better for smaller companies or companies that don't have a lot of clientele that they need to work around. The user interface of PARiM is more confusing as well and not as streamlined as Aspect's.

Timesheets are infinitely more accurate in WFR. The first basic requirement of a timesheet should be to reflect completely what is paid on a given paycheck period. The timesheet has to be simple enough for all employees to be able to view and see how the pay from the time system matches to the pay in their paycheck whether it's calculated using the same software or if integrated with another payroll software. Kronos Workforce Ready does this well.

Return on Investment

  • Aspect really makes it easy for your employees to be there when your customers need the help.
  • I can't speak to this as much since I was just customer service, but it was easy to see that Aspect made us aware of when we had more customers needing assistance so we were able to schedule around that. It's great being known for having excellent, easy-to-reach customer service and Aspect made that simple to achieve.
