Aspect Workforce Management

I would say Aspect is less appropriate with smaller businesses or businesses with a smaller amount of clients. Aspect is really useful if you have a lot of customers and employees as you have to schedule the employee breaks and time off around the business needs. A lot of smaller businesses don't need that ability since they might not have the demanding customers like a lot of larger companies would have.

TimeForce

TimeForce is a versatile system, but is is better suited for the US environment. And with flexibility comes responsibility: should you go for a more customized setup, it may be hard to maintain it, both as get quality recommendations from Infinisource's on how to fix problems.

Pros

  • easy and quick to use- you don't have to waste hours explaining how to use WFM with your employees
  • reliable- multiple employees can be making changes and testing staffing changes without the site crashing
  • easy to balance employee scheduling with your business needs

  • The ability to customize user security rights is extremely valuable. The ability to create new or even modify existing user rights allows us complete flexibility as to who can control what, who, and how. This is important to us as everything in use at our company is very flexible and custom, which makes the TimeForce system fit right in.
  • The time card system itself has been thus far flawless. It has accounted for the leap year and daylight savings each year. Punch errors, Holiday, Vacation, Sick time is all easily viewed with a glance at the screen.
  • The reporting features of TimeForce are outstanding. There are far more reports available than we have needed. But at the same time anytime a user has thought 'it would be nice to see this' we have found it listed in the Reports section of the web interface.

Cons

  • Some of the features can be difficult for a new user to learn. Once they have them down, the software functions wonderfully; however, the learning curve can be high.
  • While RTA is a great tool to utilize, the look has not changed in a long time. It has an 'old-school' software appearance that does not match the core system.
  • When dealing with huge sets of data (for example, changing schedules for an entire year for many agents), the software can hang for quite a while. While this is not a frequent occurence and can happen with any application, it can be frustrating for some users.

  • We are not currently set up for real-time downloads of punches and the clocks can require a bit of manual intervention but we are hoping to transition to real-time capture to resolve this issue
  • Recently having an issue with password resets that we are having difficulty resolving - but due to limitations with our schedule/workload have not been able to dedicate the time to resolve but we are looking forward to working with their help desk to determine a long term fix
  • The transitions to/from daylight savings could be better managed - we do what we can to stay ahead of the issue but it is not 100% seamless at this time

While I support other customers who utilize the software, the response from our customers is over-whelmingly positive. Many customers who have not had any type of workforce management software in the past use spreadsheets to schedule and forecast agents. This can be extremely complicated and a nightmare to control. The time saved by having a product that can quickly complete these functions for you is worth the investment. Also, we have several customers who had no way to track what their agents are doing and have found many problems in their call-center with the software. After rolling out a program where their adherence was tracked and actually 'mattered', they were able to see increased efficency from their agents.

Once the initial set up of the software is complete and/or you are familiar with the software, it is easy to use and runs like a dream. However, if you are unfamiliar with the software or have used a competitor's product, some features can seem difficult to learn or get used to.

Overall for the end user it is easy to navigate and use. Whenever you get into scheduling and administrative it gets a tad cumbersome.

I was impressed with the support I received. There were never any long delays when I had issues and the representatives that I worked with were always patient and eager to fully understand not only my problem but our business processes surrounding the problem.

Most of my issues can not be handled by the chat so I have to call in and usually I am on the phone for an hour or two and my problem does not always get resolved immediately or I have to wait for the next update to get resolved. When there is an update the wait time is even worse because it never fails they do an update to fix one problem and another one arises.

Implementation of the software was not difficult but it was tedious for us due to the fact that our processes had not kept up with the times and we had to make a large number of process changes along with setting up the software.

While I am aware of several competitors, I have not used their software. IEX, Verint, and Cisco are other options among many.

Return on Investment

  • Aspect Workforce Management, when used as designed did a wonderful job of reducing wait times for customers.
  • This software also reduced the amount of time that too many employees were sitting around with no calls waiting.

  • TimeForce saves me so much time at the end of each pay period, which in turn allows me to work more on other projects
