athenaCollector would be well suited for smaller practices. It is well suited for larger practices, however some turn around time/system maintenance becomes more challenging. The product is well suited for a fast paced work environment. Ease of use of the system makes it easy to navigate and not get lost.

As a physical therapy group, we are a little different than most doctor and hospital offices. We see patients 2 and 3 times a week for several weeks and then may never see the patient again. So I feel it is a great fit for our clinic.

- Kareo feels like it is a pretty quick tool.
- The scheduling tool is pretty dang easy to use.
- This item could show up as a pro/con. They offer an Excel add-in as a tool for building reports. The tool has potential but leaves something to be desired.

- Reporting for payer contract variances is weak for an organization as large as ours.
- Custom report development can get pricey and take some time to develop.
- A few of the spin-off products, such as the Dashboards, are not as customizable as our organization had hoped they would be.

- Kareo support is not the most timely. I have to wait far longer too many days than I should when the occasional problem arises.
- Kareo does not have a connection with one certain clearing house (Jopari )that would make me able to submit some additional claims electronically.
- Kareo used to have the ability to have an expected amount for each insurance in a table that let me know instantly if one particular payment paid less than expected. They took away that tool.

The ease of use is far superior than any other similar billing systems product I have used. Navigation throughout the system is very self explanatory. Training time on this system is 1-3 days depending on users role (prior to additional on the job training within the system specific to the users role). Other systems have had software training for a week or more.

The company had Kareo when I started working there but before that, they used a system that didn't offer the same features as Kareo. After looking at the old software, I am glad they had switched when I came on board.

Kareo Medical Billing
- Kareo had an overall low return on investment.
- Despite the software being active at our company, we were forced to transition to a different solution within 6-months of implementation.
- The time spent attempting to reconcile the system to itself was rather wasteful.
