Automation Anywhere
Where we are having huge manpower expenditures for our internal processes and all the processes where we can't take the risk of compliance issues or errors with respect to data processing. If there are too many human interventions required then for such kind of processes this software is not suitable.

SopaUI is the best choice when it comes to testing complicated combination of web services such as RESTful, SOAP, JSON and AMF. Although It can also cover simple HTML GUI test cases by calling web page elements as a recorded order, but it is not a good choice for testing user interfaces or as a replacement to Selenium.

Pros
Automation Anywhere
- Exception handling is pretty decent. WE don't have to worry about process being stuck as it moves to the next iteration on its own.
- Automation is easier to achieve as it doesn't require high coding skills or designing a specific framework.
- It can achieve PDF editing and automation, which in our case of policy documents has been valuable.

- Ease of use and setup, particularly with SOAP services where you have the WSDL. Import and go. If your WSDL changes you can update the definition or refactor it, which is a life saver.
- Decent GUI - I feel the GUI is well thought out in most areas.
- Scripting and Plugins - Allows setting of a script repository (Pro). In general, you can script in Groovy or JavaScript throughout a project. We use Groovy and haven't run into anything we haven't been able to find a solution to through scripting. For plugins, we've written some custom ones in Java to add menu items. To use them you just have to drop the jar file in a specific directory.
- Community - The community via blogs and forums is great. If you run into issues you can normally find someone else who had a similar problem. The response on the forums from SmartBear is also good. They also recently added an 'API Dojo' which is very informational.

Cons
Automation Anywhere
- Automation Anywhere doesn't come with easy installation, We need to install Java, IDEs and Databases in an orderly fashion which we are not able to do.
- Automation Anywhere has no workflow design which is not making us to understand the process.
- Automation Anywhere has no fit to size object cloning.

- Recently the tool has become heavy since it has integrated virtualization features. Unless provided enough heap space, the tool sometimes can crash during the execution.
- History of test execution is forgotten as new payload is executed in the same step. Will be useful to keep the history for reuse purposes.

Invested in 1000 of hours reusable test script and modules, and it still seems to be growing. Not to mention that even without that consideration, it would still be the choice for the type of testing SoapUI provides. It is in investment that was wisely made, and requires us to stay the course.

On more complex use cases, Automation Anywhere requires technical background like knowledge on network protocols and database language on task creation, and even people with technical background might have some trouble in the beginning because of the product particularities on how variable manipulation works, or how to get the object cloning (a more resilient screen manipulation command) to work as intended. The scheduling of tasks on the Control Room and the autologin feature isn't intuitive as they should, so much of this works requires documentation analysis to get it done on the first time.

SOAP UI was mainly developed to test SOA-based application which is majorly SOAP-based web services, SOAP UI works well with SOAP services which are XML-based and when you work with SOAP UI for some time you will understand that it is meant to test SOAP services predominantly.

Soap UI has managed to continuously build on it's solid foundation and keep improving by each release. It is by far the most dependable and accurate testing tool out there of its kind. Available via connecting to VM's created as SoapUI test machines give access to it anytime, anywhere practically.

Automation Anywhere is a great tool for a low cost, fairly easily scalable, and quickly learned. The company is growing by leaps and bounds and continually pushing the automation boundaries. The problem with fast expansion is that sometimes you can grow more quickly than you can appropriately support your products. While Automation Anywhere has an excellent support structure in place, every company and situation is different, and they often struggle with why problems arise in the system and how to fix them.

For my purposes, the provided help features have been sufficient. I am sure I would be better off if I were to spend more time studying the app. For now, I load a project, connect, and execute. It just works.

Other than Automaton Anywhere I have also used UiPath. What I like about Automation Anywhere is the object cloning and the way you can move the mouse and either go to a particular point or go to an element. That's very easy and intuitive in Automation Anywhere. It gets the job done in terms of getting the data out of the pages. Although I have other tools, I still have this habit of going through the clicks. If you're going through the clicks, Automation Anywhere is the best.

Our team did an extensive analysis of the products that were available to carry out API Testing. There were 3 products that were finalized, SoapUI Pro, Postman, and Katalon Studio, out of these 3 SoapUI was the clear winner. I can't stress enough about the SoapUI's UI interface, very clean. SoapUI Pro enabled us to reuse our test scripts over multiple environments. Enabled us with data-driven testing.

Return on Investment
Automation Anywhere
- Our overall business has saved numerous hours of work where individuals were freed up to perform higher level thinking tasks.
- Following a necessary reduction in workforce that was not driven by RPA, we were able to automate processes that kept the remaining workload from overwhelming the remaining workforce.
- The use of robotics process automation has inspired many workers to come up with different approaches to problems including both automation and analytics.

- Positive impact: It has made our webservice automation faster and more reliable than manual webservice testing. ROI has definitely increased in recent months.
- Negative Impact: You need trained resources in order to implement the complete solution. Sometimes it's difficult to find trained sources.
