Awardco

Awardco has something for everyone. I have employees in a variety of age groups and some want to travel, some want a tangible item, and others feel like they don't really need/want anything so they choose a gift card so they can use it how and when they choose. Awardco allows that flexibility. Also, if the individual isn't ready to make a selection right away, they can save their points to use at a later time. If an individual would like to select an item larger than their award amount, they are not able to add dollars to their personal account, which may cause some frustration to an individual.

WizeHive Zengine

[WizeHive Zengine is] useful for creating custom applications, multiple users and keeping data distinct between the various users (applicants, references, directors and reviewers). But, it can be difficult to learn and isn't intuitive on how to set it up so the data is clean.

Pros

Awardco

  • Allows users to save rewards they're interested in.
  • Notifies you when your item has been shipped and keeps you up to date on location.
  • Diversity of awards available.

WizeHive Zengine

  • It has made the application, which is almost identical to the application questions previously displayed by our old service, seem less daunting and more user friendly to grant applicants.
  • The grant review team has exclaimed that the side-by-side review option is the best feature ever invented and has saved them loads of paper.
  • Internally, I appreciate the ease of use of the back end system. Being able to easily assign grants to reviews both in and outside the organization, easily create queries for the stats I need, and the ability to move application through the steps of the system seamlessly make this my top choice since I'm the only staff member dedicated to the Foundation which leaves me with lots on my plate to balance.

Cons

Awardco

  • I would love if I could award points as a manager.
  • Ordering Amazon products directly from the Awardco site does not come with tracking for your items.
  • The products ordered directly from the Awardco site take a really long time to arrive at your home.

WizeHive Zengine

  • Initially, somewhat challenging to navigate the site and not the most intuitive when creating application portals.
  • Needs more help options and tutorials to make the user experience much easier and smoother.
  • Still some bugs that need to be fixed (including some issues with a few of the filters in application forms).

The platform is very basic. On the other and, our staff does not take advantage of its full capabilities because such features did not work well for us/fit our needs

Someone has always been available when I reach out or they will call me back in less than 24 hours if they aren't available when I call. If I have an urgent need to reach someone, there is always someone who is willing to help in the absence of my primary contact.

We didn’t really use their support. I wish they would have told us more about the fact they were changing to get rid of the flash player as that was the main reason we left.

Their design team gave us the option to save some money by creating the forms ourselves for both the submission and review portals. This also allowed us to get to a point where we felt very comfortable in any future changes that would need to be made to forms since we were so immersed in creating them.

Alternatives Considered

Awardco

In the past, we have used sites like Coupa to order products & prizes for employees who we want to reward or who have earned prizes during competitions. We enjoyed the program, but there were many steps involved & many layers to go through. It was a time-consuming process to reward an employee, but now we don't spend any time at all on things like this since every employee has their own Awardco account.

WizeHive Zengine

Compared to these, Zengine is on par with each of them. All of them offer pretty much the same functionality, although a couple of the others have a more user-friendly interface. Zengine is on par with pricing as well, similar to all of these. The difference comes in when you need something not part of the standard package. Most of these will allow unlimited users, while Zengine only allows 30 I believe. If you need more than 30 (which we often do, as our team of grant reviewers consists of about 50 people), you will have to pay extra for them. You will also have to pay extra with Zengine if you're offering more than one grant, whereas the others allow you to offer anywhere from 5 different grants to an unlimited number of grants. This was key for us because, although we only offer one grant annually right now, this year we plan to offer a short (3-month) micro-grant dedicated to a specific group/category of schools. Zengine will charge us $1,500 additional to offer this short-term micro-grant, whereas the others will allow us to offer it at no additional charge.

Return on Investment

Awardco

  • Has fixed the employee complaint of more award diversity.
  • Has allowed for HR to award year of service awards virtually.

WizeHive Zengine

  • Helps keep all applications in one place
  • Can drain admin staff resources with troubleshooting
  • Allows us to see who starts, but doesn't complete application so we can follow up

Additional Pricing Details
Awardco Enterprise is priced fairly depending on your recognition program needs, and is often much lower than the industry standard. Our previous customers have found that they can use a portion of their previous recognition budget to implement and utilize Awardco, and the rest of the funds can be directed immediately back to their employees, thus rewarding them even more than before.
