Oracle Enterprise Metadata Management (OEMM) is a metadata management platform. OEMM can harvest and catalog metadata from virtually any metadata provider, including relational, Hadoop, ETL, BI, and data modeling.
Azure Data Catalog helps us solve data discovery problems brilliantly. Our organization created a single source of truth for our data, which allowed us to develop BI and data science solutions. We can drag tables or data sources to manage workflow. Some of the more complicated data normalization or standardization issues need to be simplified, and I'd like to see that happen.
As mentioned in my first paragraph, we have found Oracle MetaData management to be very helpful with our training material. Because our business is constantly changing, we often have to modify terminology, procedures, photos, and more. Properly cataloging our materials allows us to use the metadata to quickly search through all resources and identify items that require revision. It is very helpful and saved a tremendous amount of time searching.
We researched Alex Solutions in addition to Oracle Metadata Management, and although there were comparable price points, features, and capabilities, we ultimately decided to go with Oracle because we use Oracle for our LMS. The integration was seamless and provided a way to get things up and running quickly. We haven’t had any major issues or concerns that have caused us to question that decision at this time.
Azure platform makes it easier for us to register & catalogue all available information easily. This way when the customer actually made a sudden request or they want to access sensitive information on their own, the data is readily presented to them. Needless to say we use this mined and catalogue data for a variety of inhouse training and other improvement initiatives.
