Bananatag is very well suited to creating messages that are going to be used on a regular basis but don't require much in the way of changing or amending. It is also a very handy platform to track sending emails and the watermarking technology is very handy. As far as range of designs compared to something like Mailchimp it doesn't compare well.

Any company that is looking to manage its brand and how consumers \ clients \ customers see communications from your company.
Additionally, if you are curious as to the pulling power of the last line of your email signature you can change this out instantly to test messaging.

Pros

Easy to use and install, particularly with Gmail for business.
It has a simple feedback system, if a client reads an email, you get an emailed read receipt telling you the time of them doing so.
It runs in the background, is virtually undetectable and will not hinder any communication in the slightest.

Everything is automated for the users, so the signatures are always on the emails and are consistent across our organization.
Templates are easy to make and apply.
The integration with Exchange & Outlook is easy.

Have not really had many opportunities to use the support function but my experience was limited and a little bit clunky. It was not particularly responsive or helpful in terms of trying to resolve the query I was working on. I think the problem was solved by another member of the team that worked on designing their own template.

They know their own product really well and can help with that, but integration issues are a glaring missing element in their support training or knowledge base. Basic installation, template creation and edits are fully supported by capable folks. We often to open an email ticket, then schedule a phone call in a day or two for support assistance, but we've never had an "emergency" signature issue, so that hasn't been a big deal to us.

Alternatives Considered

Bananatag is a free-standing application that plugs into your email service provider. As such, you do not need to be logged into another application to see the results or the real-time tracking of emails like you would with other email trackers. The free application is great if you just need to track a few outbound emails, but the paid plans offer a much more robust tracking service that would allow you to get any and all information you could desire from an email being tracked

Exclaimer and CodeTwo are direct competitors. They boast the same features and even the administration consoles are similar in visual appearance. They both have HTML editors to configure the signature(s) and directly link with Exchange or Office 365 Hosted Exchange. A trial of both software would help make the decision easier, but overall they are very good products and pricing is similar.

It has sped up communication with the client because you have insight into how they are receiving and looking at material you have sent them.

The previous technician who worked here would manually change email signatures for staff. This obviously took a long time. Now, I can make a change in a few minutes.
Our CEO greatly appreciates the ability to use this for marketing.
