In our organization we can use the AMI OPS monitoring products for exports. We can also use it to design customized views and container for non experts, so that the easy can access the data they need. In the explorer you can easy handle the data like in a spreadsheet.

Certainly, the tool is useful for debugging applications and for real-time monitoring. It's a bit less useful, not to say useless when applications are client servers. We have used it heavily above all to optimize the DB/2 applications. We managed to reduce the need for additional MIPS year by year.

Naturally, during the software selection, other tools from other similar vendors were compared as functionalities. more benchmarks have been made to control the Omegamon overhead on applications. certainly, it has influenced the fact that the mainframe base software is IBM and Omegamon is IBM so the compatibility problems are automatically solved.
