Likelihood to Recommend BombBomb is great for direct, individually-sent emails where you want to custom the email, particularly with a video message. BombBomb is not the best mass email tool that I have seen on the market. In my experience, they penalize you when people unsubscribe, even if they NEED to be receiving your emails. We have people who unsubscribe and then miss info they need for work. That's not our fault. But, in our experience, BombBomb displays that we are not a good company to mass email because of it.
Read full review It works very nicely for our company site because it can easily and seamlessly embed into the site and email HTML pages. It also has picture in picture, sharing, closed captioning (CC) as basic functions. It will also show the time of the video. Because these are short-term-use videos or might get updated frequently and also are just targeting a specific audience, being able to hide or not able to show the number of views or date published (unlike YouTube) actually helps us.
Read full review Pros I like BombBomb's animated GIF preview of our video content. I think it's definitely more attention-grabbing than traditional email. BombBomb's automation tools are simple and easy to use. You can program a series of emails to go out X number days following the previous one and at a certain point in time. BombBomb's email builder is also pretty easy to use, once you get the hang of it. (If you've used other email tools, Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc. --- this one should be a snap.) Read full review Ability to easily output a JSON response for requested video data. This makes it easy to work with Brightcove as partner. The read APIs are very flexible and can the output can be easily customized using cgi args. This provides great customization of the output and sorting and filtering mechanisms to find the videos you're looking for. The ability to add captions to videos is good, especially with the regulations requiring video captioning. DFXP support works great as long as the player is given the exact XML format it is looking for. Read full review Cons We've found it's better with existing relationships than as an outbound campaign. Deliverability - We serve markets that might be a little more strict with regards to deliverability. Chrome extension - it was awful and took up so much of the inbox that we've uninstalled it completely. Read full review The code for customizing the video player can be made easier, I think it still uses BEML code. Easily accessible ready made code will help users like me to implement a cool looking player. I would love to implement Brightcove video cloud on most of the projects that I work on and I see we could use it in so many different ways but pricing is not easily available on the website. Again if I could work with someone to price for small, medium and large businesses that would be great. Read full review Likelihood to Renew It took quite some time to upload and organize our video library. The amount of time it would require to relocate all this information outweighs any negative aspect I personally have with the experience. They have been pretty good to work with and from speaking with my Brightcove rep, I know some of the issues I have listed are currently being addressed and tested for future releases.
Read full review Usability As said before, the usability is very straightforward and the customization options are good enough to get the job done. There is a mobile app to help with real-time engagement so that is useful too. They offer plenty of training and best practices to make sure you are getting the most out of BombBomb.

Read full review Performance Overall it's very easy to use and the video emails stand out. Everything loads quickly and they make it easy to set up. It features CRM-like functionality to view opens, clicks, time watched, etc., but it doesn't port that info over to your existing CRM which is where some of the friction occurs. Still, it's amazing for what it does. I recommend giving it a try for our outreach.
Read full review Support Rating A few times over the years I have asked for features to be added to BombBomb and I am amazed at how fast they can implement.
Zapier integration is a perfect example. They implemented the connection to
Zapier within 30 days of my feature request. It took a much larger company, Keller Williams Realty over 10 years to implement the same request.
Read full review We are notified often of downtime, and I have not heard from a support rep for over a year. It really makes it hard to learn what new things are coming out and how we can take our video to the next level when there is no contact from the team on a regular cadence.
Read full review Alternatives Considered I believe my customer service director looked into a couple of other companies before deciding on BombBomb and I know the Outlook integration was a big deal. I think they really liked how easy the program is to use too.
Read full review Marketing department favors it because EVERYONE uses YouTube. Overall, YouTube offers decent features and functionality. But Brightcove offers the ability to brand and style players, and control what our users see (and so much more) and YouTube does not. For instance, on YouTube, users are presented with other videos (which could contain competitor videos).
Read full review Return on Investment Overall, I think BombBomb has given us a positive ROI on our email marketing efforts. I don't have numbers to support that claim, but it's more affordable and better positioned for what we needed to do than many other tools out in the marketplace. If you need to differentiate your email, the video component is a great way to go. Read full review Again, there has been a huge cost savings which significantly improved our ROI There has also been less time spent on learning new technologies and training additional staff on maintaining a video server. Less time spent on the previous two points has allowed me to focus on other areas within the department that needed improvement. Read full review ScreenShots
