London based Receipt Bank offers Practice Platform, an application supporting SMBs and accounting firms with tracking receipts and expenses and logging them with minimal or no paperwork and data entry in an environment that integrates with popular accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks).
BQE Core is a really great product for time management, billing, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, vendor billing, and project management for architectural practices. It is also very strong in supporting collaboration and management reporting as well as integration with other software that you may already be using such as Quickbooks. BQE Core is lacking in the allocation and forecasting area, especially when trying to see the big picture for capacity across the company.
It is great for accounting firms. Easy to add and administer client accounts. Easy to integrate with QuickBooks Online. Easy for clients to capture and submit receipts on the go. It is hard to use for manual data entry, and if your clients frequently have very long receipts the Dext Mobile app does not work well as it compresses the image to the point where it is completely illegible. It does not seem to be designed for business owners to use directly rather than using it through their accounting firm.
Invoice Collections within Billing is a great tool because of the ability to take notes and track contact.
Invoices are professional looking and easy for our clients to understand the overall progress within each phase of their project.
Dashboards are the best tool EVER!
The Contact List feature within Clients setup is the perfect way to track multiple project managers within a large company that also has multiple contracts with us.
Receipt Bank does a stellar job of extracting information from photos of receipts and bills. I'd say 95% of the time the information pulled is correct, so very rarely do I have to correct an amount or date.
One feature I really enjoy is not only the syncing with Quickbooks Online, but the fact that it also pushes the image to Quickbooks Online as an attachment! This means that for every expense/bill processed through Receipt Bank, an image of it is available inside of the transaction inside of Quickbooks Online. This makes researching a breeze.
Receipt Bank makes it very simple for users to add documents to the platform. Each company receives a dedicated Receipt Bank email address, which they can email to and upload documents, or users can use the phone apps (which are really easy to use), or they can upload documents from their computer. Training our clients to use it really can't be any easier!
Simplification of structure and features (customization); sometimes it's too much of a good thing.
The mobile app could be more closely aligned with the web platform (not all items, features are available, and not as easy to navigate and view data).
Dashboard widgets could be more interactive. Ex: Aged Receivables should allow bringing up a summary window of past-due project billings and invoices as opposed to simply showing days aged that it already shows on the side and with matching color.
Receipt Bank Practice Platform has many great features. As they develop the platform I would like to see a rigorous review of all features so as not to add too many and overwhelm my team.
Having the flexibility to pick and choose from a suite of features and implement the ones that best suit my practice. A tailor made Receipt Bank Practice Platform. this would allow my practice to grow into the features rather than be overwhelmed by too many.
We have been using Core for a few years now, and honestly started to look at other software systems to see what was out there. What we chose was a nightmare for migration so we never left Core. Now we have added invoicing and payments from Core instead of double entry with QBO. Still only a few cycles in but looks like it will be up to speed soon and working smoothly.
Dext is the best way for us to manage our business expenses. Physical and PDF receipts/invoices will be around for a while, but the move to eInvoicing is very good and we look forward to Dext adding this feature
If I were being asked why i give it a 10/10 rating, I suppose it would come down to one, and really honestly just the one single item: usability. I live a busy life, you know? When I need to get in to log my time I can do that extremely expediently. I like the program that I'm using if that makes sense.
Dext Prepare's usability is great, it has lots of functions and you can scan any type of document, including hard copy handwritten documents. It is not very accurate but it is handwritten!! Apart from it, you can use multiple functions like one page at a time, multiple, in bulk. You can send emails with multiple attachments and one of the greatest function is the mobile application capabilities.
The software makes my process of submitting documents and expense reports easier! The way it tracks hours is great and reliable. The interface is easy to use and the graphic is very intuitive. The customer service is also great and it helped me a lot when I needed. Very satisfied
Never used the support function. I guess that means it’s easy to use and works well because I never had an issue in 3 years. Not sure if the support team is helpful.
Wind2 and MYOB where both DOS based operating systems so BillQuick is a god send compared to them. While BillQuick and Ajera are both Windows based, when we purchased BillQuick, it was mainly because for the size of the company we were (12 people), it was a much better option than Ajera, which is great for a larger firm. As we have grown, BillQuick has done a great job at growing with us. The only issue we are having is that we opened an office in another state and we have not been able to get those staff members to access the data base yet. But we are working on it
Receipt Bank is superior to Wave in terms of its accuracy of reporting and allocating expenses. Even though there is a fee for Receipt Bank and Wave is free, the monthly fee for Receipt Bank is well worth the money, given the benefits
