Brainshark

I love what Brainshark does for me and how easy it is to train someone else to use it. Most people are familiar with PowerPoint and that makes and easy start that can be enhanced with animation, voice over and background music. You can also upload videos, SCORM compliant classes and more to make an easy to use system to present training and education. I have reviewed a number of other programs, and all seem to have the same weaknesses in reporting. Brainshark does what I need without a lot of difficult training.

SnapEngage

SnapEnage is a great tool for providing quick feedback to simpler questions about the company or product. For example, password help, getting started instructions, provide the cost options for the service. SnapEngage is not the best for more complicated or detailed correspondences. Typically if chat isn't the best to address a person's needs I initiate a phone conversation.

Pros

Brainshark

  • Brainshark is a very user-friendly tool that can be learned in a very short period of time; which was extremely valuable as there was only one experienced Brainshark author in our company.
  • Brainshark is a great way to communicate to a global audience. Our company has expanded their global footprint and often the only cost effective way to communicate or train in different time zones and remote locations is using tools like Brainshark.
  • Brainshark provides us a hosting platform accessible across the globe where none exists today in our company.

SnapEngage

  • SnapEngage provides an easy to use interface for the internal user to respond to chat inquiries.
  • The interface for the customer/prospect is nice as well - they can chat with an agent if there are any live, or they can send in an email if it happens to be outside of supported chat hours. These come in as leads to our SFDC instance.
  • Administration of the tool is very simple and straight forward as well. You add the user's email address, give them a nickname, and you have the option of linking them to an existing SFDC user if you've integrated with SFDC.

  • Brainshark has addressed a number of feature enhancements over the past two years...it really performs at a high level on a consistent basis...
  • Ocassionally we run into a large video file >500mb that we have to address directly with support but it does not happen very often...

  • No Bitcoin Payment Option
  • Chat window design is average. Even though you can make your own chat window design in photoshop and send it to them for implementation, which is great, they don't have great customization potential in the back office.

For the niche it fills in the content we produce, there aren't many alternatives. We want something a non-technical, non-design user can use to quickly create content that is distributable to an external audience. I'm not aware of a tool that does that and offers the same features.

I'm always able to access Brainshark, whether it is to upload, record, share, download, or view presentations. Whenever I do need to contact someone at Brainshark, there is always someone there. I have never had a problem accessing a presentation and any updates to presentations are viewable immediately.

We've found a few glitches and needed some branding updated. Each time we've called, they were super responsive and cared about my issue as much as I did! They've even helped me (and another vendor) figure out how to have this other outside software integrate with theirs to achieve an even greater presentation. I'm super impressed with their Customer Service people.

The training is easy to use. You can take as little or as much as you need. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. There is a variety of training you can take. There are mini lessons, courses, and webinars. The folks at Brainshark truly want to help you have the best presentation possible.

Brainshark

There are a lot of sites that allow you to host/share content in the loud. What won for me was their tracking, analytics, and reporting. At the time there was nobody even close to Brainshark and I have not seen anything since that would make me want to switch. I look forward to many years working with them.

SnapEngage

We actually demo'ed LiveChat and LivePerson and besides SnapEngage having a better UI and ease of use, the support from their team was worlds and away above the rest. They let us run an extended demo, gave us constant support, and made sure we felt comfortable before we went live with the system.
