Pros

Brightmove is intuitive and easy to learn and to use. It interfaces well with social media.
Brightmove has good capabilities to build interfaces to other systems, such as a background checking system.
In addition, Brightmove has a good record of being available.

Screening questionnaires are great and easy to use for sorting applicants and screening out unqualified applicants.
Cross posting to various advertising sponsors with the click of a button saves a lot of time and effort!

Cons

Brightmove could offer more detailed and user friendly reports.
Brightmove could add more screening questions to applicants when they are applying to a job. The feature that is already there is not really useful.
Brightmove needs to separate internal applicants from external applicants.

Relatively difficult to use for someone who isn't tech savvy.
Monster made changes to the system that were rolled out, but the previous functionality was better.
Not streamlined. A process that should be simple requires way too many steps.

Brightmove has worked well as we are a company with 120 employees. For as long as we stay around this size, we will continue with Brightmove, but as we grow we will start looking for an ATS that can directly tie into our CRM (NetSuite). The price point is great for the functionality when compared to other ATS solutions

The Customer Support is the best part of using this ATS vs others. They have a chat feature on the home page where you can ask a question and have a Customer Service rep help you in less than a minute. I have found that to be invaluable and a life saver on several occasions. I'm not sure you get that kind of service from a bigger ATS provider.

Alternatives Considered

Brightmove seems to be pretty similar to Vurv, but overall the functionality of the other systems I have used has been better. I didn't select to implement Brightmove, it was already in place when I joined the company.

We selected HRSmart at the time because they were the leading up and coming company offering a multi-functional talent management platform on one underlying database. The value proposition was that we were supposed to only have one integration between HRIS and HRSmart.The reality was that the systems weren't as integrated as billed. Compensation was a separate module with separate interfaces and pre-hire didn't talk to post hire very well. We later learned that all clients were on different versions of the software and since then almost all other companies have built true multi-tenant SaaS platforms and offer a much better integrated value proposition.

Positive ROI in terms of time spent by our recruiting team. Our old ATS was clunky and forced users to spend more time on mundane tasks.
Positive ROI in terms of connecting without outside job boards and finding job candidates.
Positive ROI in terms of motivating our team by seeing their numbers in an easy to understand/read dashboard.

Absolutely improved our candidate managemenr capability. Before we simply had three piles of resumes on our desk for each position (yes, no, and not yet reviewed). HRSmart changed all of that.
Our cost per hire was positively affected. We were hiring at a high volume and this soltion facilitated us doing that very efficiently.
Our ability to share candidates across open positions turned out to be a huge plus.
Not having to copy or scan resumes and send them via interoffice mail was HUGE in terms of efficiency gain.
HRSmart made it easier for candidates to apply for openings and that increased our applicant flow for open/posted positions. This translates into better hires in the end.
