It is great for already hired employees. After you are already working with us to use the system is great for benefits, pay stubs, forms to fill out, time off requests. But prior to hire, we did not think the ATS system was ready for tracking applicants. There were many features such as bulk messaging applicants that were not available yet

LearnUpon

LearnUpon is likely better suited to an organization who uses it to deliver and track training internally. You can import your AD list of employees and create accounts for them. It works for training externally, but we've had to employ a lot of workarounds to make it suitable for our purposes.

  • Client service and support: LearnUpon provides the most expansive and responsive customer service I have ever experienced from a vendor. They were full partners in every aspect of how we use the LMS, from implementation planning to instructional design. They provide responsive support for technical issues, and are generous with their time and energy in brainstorming and exploring how to leverage LearnUpon's available features and functions to fit the needs of our learning program. They also engage customers in product development and enhancement planning to such a degree that the platform almost feels made to order!
  • User interface: LearnUpon provides an engaging and immersive learning experience. Learners with low technological literacy are able to learn and use the platform with minimal support. Proficient users can maximize the available features and functions to create asynchronous and blended learning products that are navigable and engaging for learners. The buttons say what they do and they mean what they say; LearnUpon's interface also includes expansive "help tags" - almost every feature provides additional instructions about its function and intended use without leaving the page.
  • User management: LearnUpon provides a multi-faceted approach to creating and managing users that is both flexible and reliable. The ability to group users using and/or logic, self-reported user information, and HRIS integrated data is variable enough to support a company of great complexity. These tools are easy to use and manage for administrators and managers.

  • Customer Support, bring back dedicated account managers.
  • Do not roll out new versions of the software until most bugs have been cleared. We are sick of being your guinea pigs. It disrupts our businesses!

  • They don't offer a "pre-requisites" feature but they are very responsive about feature requests. We signed up late last year and already 2 of my feature requests have been implemented.
  • The discussion forum feature (brand new!) is not super intuitive, yet, but I expect the support team to improve it quickly as they do everything else.
  • The notifications feature could be improved a bit, but it still functions as necessary!

I think it's very usable for the employee. I don't think it is as easy for the HR/PR admins - especially if there is an issue. There are so many setup screens that need to be looked at to try to figure out why payroll isn't calculating properly, hours aren't feeding over correctly, or benefits are not calculating properly. For the most part, they can't do their own troubleshooting. The same is true for the managers. Our managers find it cumbersome to go into make any schedule changes after the schedules have been generated.

We have never experienced a total/unplanned outages that effected our ability to process payroll. However, there are times when the application's speed is significantly effected - and processing a payroll may take up to twice as long as normal.

We haven't noticed any slow-down due to the integration of Dayforce WFM with our Ceridian HPL products (HRIS and Payroll). The new HTML view of the timesheets don't load as quickly as the old Silverlight view - however, we have gotten used to the change.

Most of the time the support is great; it's not always super efficient but I always get the help I need. Occasionally it takes a lot longer than we had hoped or get conflicting responses. We had one ticket recently where we were told we would have to pay the service team to support us on the project and then another person called the next day with the solution to our query and was able to find a solution easily. Generally, though, the response is great and they either walk me though how to do something via a Zoom Meeting or they email step-by-step instructions on how to do it and say if I have questions we can set up a meeting to discuss further.

Have a strong internal team. Communicate with your implementation team - they are there to make it work for you. Take the time to really think about how you want the system to work for you - in some cases, you may need to rethink your own business practices to see if you are working harder when the system could do it for you

This has allowed our organization to rollout to all of our employees and streamline process throughout all levels of employees. We continue to tweak/customize our options knowing that DF is robust application that is continually working on a better experience for the customer.

As a relatively new user of learning management systems, my exposure to other LMS has been limited to online classes I taught at the college level and Moodle. LearnUpon offers great automation, customer service, and integration with other e-learning tools (Articulate, Vimeo, etc.). LearnUpon also gave me enough time to test out their platform and ensure that it could meet my needs.

Overall, we are extremely happy with the Dayforce WFM module. Our biggest pain point is concerning the twice annual software upgrades - which is the only reason I haven't rated them as a '10'. Because every customer is configured differently, the upgrades can sometimes have adverse effects on our current configured policies/rules. And although they roll-out the upgraded version in a test environment several weeks before go-live, not all testing is accurate in that environment. Some issues do not present themselves until you are working with live punches.

  • There's no paper handling for employee's PTO requests, manager approvals, etc. This is a huge time-saving and hassle-saving aspect of the system.
  • Employees no longer print out their paychecks - it's all on the app. And we pay less for mailing checks all over the place.
  • Employees enroll in their benefits now, which was also a huge time, paper, and cost saving!
  • Employees attest that they received all of their meals and rests via the biometric clocks, so paper doesn't have to be kept - the system tracks that info now.
